About the Role

We're looking for a proactive and commercially minded Financial Control Analyst to join our Finance team on a 12-month fixed term contract.

This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified accountant, or someone nearing qualification, to play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our financial reporting while helping drive process improvement, automation, and business insight.

As part of the Financial Control team, you'll help ensure our financial records are accurate, complete, compliant, and delivered on time. Working closely with colleagues across Finance and the wider business, you'll support financial reporting, audit requirements, regulatory obligations, and strategic improvement initiatives.

This role offers exposure beyond traditional financial control responsibilities, including project delivery, business intelligence, data analytics, testing and controls, and the ongoing enhancement of our charging and statements operating model. It's an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience and make a tangible impact within a collaborative and evolving Finance function.

What You'll Be Doing

Financial Control & Reporting

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes
  • Prepare and post accounting journals with appropriate supporting documentation
  • Complete and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances
  • Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and compliant with relevant accounting policies
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Finance to deliver high-quality month-end reporting
  • Support internal and external audits through the timely preparation of audit information
  • Help strengthen and enhance the financial control environment
  • Promote continuous improvement and automation initiatives across the team
  • Ensure accurate accounting and reporting of Wealth Management remuneration and revenue activities
  • Support knowledge sharing and cross-training across financial control processes

Projects & Change Delivery

As part of our Charging & Statements Programme, you will:

  • Support the rollout of charging and statement production processes across multiple investment management platforms
  • Work with business stakeholders and operational teams to deliver successful outcomes
  • Gather and document business requirements
  • Help manage project milestones, risks, dependencies, and communications
  • Support the integration of new platform businesses into the operating model
  • Contribute to operational readiness, process design, and control implementation

Testing, Controls & Documentation

  • Develop and execute testing strategies and plans
  • Perform system, integration, user acceptance, and reconciliation testing
  • Support defect management and issue resolution
  • Create and maintain operational procedures and runbooks
  • Ensure process, control, and technical documentation remains accurate and up to date
  • Contribute to governance and change management activities

Business Intelligence & Analytics

  • Develop and maintain Tableau dashboards and management information reporting
  • Build and enhance SQL-based datasets and reporting models
  • Translate business requirements into meaningful reporting solutions
  • Deliver data-driven insights to support business decision-making
  • Identify opportunities for automation and reporting enhancements
  • Support ad hoc analysis requests across Finance, Operations, and the wider business

About You

We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, detail-oriented, and motivated to improve how things are done. You’ll bring:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification (or be part qualified with relevant industry experience)
  • Experience working within a finance, accounting, or financial control environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders across all levels of the business
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to challenge existing processes constructively
  • Resilience and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • A genuine interest in continuous improvement, automation, and process optimisation

Desirable

  • Experience using Tableau, SQL, or other reporting and analytics tools
  • Experience supporting finance transformation, systems implementations, or process improvement projects
  • Exposure to audit, controls, governance, or regulatory reporting environments
  • Experience within financial services, wealth management, or investment management

Why This Role?

  • Join a Finance team on its journey towards becoming a Centre of Excellence
  • Gain exposure across financial control, finance transformation, project delivery, and business intelligence
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders across Finance, Operations, and the wider business
  • Contribute to process improvement, automation, and strategic initiatives
  • Build valuable experience in a complex and fast-paced financial services environment

Why Join Us?

This 12-month fixed term opportunity offers the chance to gain broad exposure across financial reporting, business change, analytics, and operational improvement. You'll work on high-profile initiatives, develop valuable technical and commercial skills, and play an important role in shaping how Finance continues to evolve and deliver value to the business.

Whether you're newly qualified or building on existing industry experience, you'll have the opportunity to make an immediate impact while further developing your career in a supportive and collaborative environment.
