Position Summary

The IT Manager, Business Partner & Product Manager, is accountable for the operational health and business support strategy of MPC's Commercial Digital portfolio. This leader oversees service management, AMS performance, major incident coordination, stakeholder engagement, and support readiness for mission-critical Commercial systems. The role combines business relationship management, operational leadership, and digital transformation to ensure Commercial users receive reliable, high-quality technology services while continuously improving support effectiveness, governance, and user experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages daily operations of the team, providing guidance, mentorship, and driving a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Oversees recruitment, development, retention, and performance to build strong talent.
  • Plans and leads low- to medium-complexity IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and adhere to quality standards.
  • Ensures the availability, reliability, and security of technology systems. Collaborates with key stakeholders and internal groups to identify needs, deliver effective solutions, and support business objectives.
  • Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of digital products and solutions—from ideation through delivery and support—by orchestrating cross-functional collaboration across development, QA, and operations to ensure timely, high-quality releases aligned with IT standards and governance. Champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation by leveraging performance metrics and user feedback to identify and act on opportunities. Embed practices that foster long-term sustainability, operational resilience, and service excellence. Proactively manage risks with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.
  • Align product roadmaps with business strategy and long-term objectives, especially within enterprise and Oil & Gas industry contexts.  Champion technology-driven process improvements through cloud, cybersecurity, data governance, and digital transformation initiatives that foster innovation and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Build strong business partnerships to gather, prioritize, and translate requirements into actionable digital product roadmaps aligned with both short-term needs and long-term business strategies. Serve as a bridge between business units and IT delivery, translating complex needs into initiatives, managing expectations, resolving issues, and fostering continuous engagement.
  • Oversee budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of IT services. Make strategic decisions on resource allocation and contract negotiations that align with business priorities and drive transformational outcomes.
  • Act as a change agent by driving the adoption of IT solutions through strategic and structured change management programs that prioritize user experience. Provide support for tailored training and documentation to foster connection, build trust, and maximize value realization.
  • Lead the Commercial Digital support function responsible for service oversight, incident coordination, triage, business impact assessment, AMS alignment, and operational continuity across Commercial applications.
  • Serve as the primary business-facing escalation and coordination leader for Commercial support issues, ensuring timely communications, clear ownership, and effective resolution across AMS, Product, IT, and business teams.
  • Mature the Commercial support operating model by defining roles, escalation paths, metrics, runbooks, support readiness practices, and AMS accountability mechanisms.
  • Partner with Product teams to ensure support insights, recurring incident trends, user pain points, and operational risks are incorporated into product roadmaps and continuous improvement plans.
  • Drive support readiness for strategic initiatives, releases, patches, migrations, and month-end/accounting close activities.
  • Use ServiceNow, SLA performance, ticket trends, user feedback, and operational health metrics to identify improvement opportunities and reduce repeat incidents.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other computer-related degree required.
  • 10+ years of diversified IT experience required.
  • 3 or more years of direct or indirect leadership experience required.
  • Experience delivering IT products or services aligned with business strategy, including oversight of project timelines and vendor relationships required.
  • Experience driving change management initiatives, ensuring adoption, and achieving short- to medium-term business goals required.
  • Experience adapting and executing plans based on established strategies and organizational objectives required.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams, including management of exempt professional staff preferred
  • Experience supporting strategic initiatives and transition-to-support readiness.

Required Experience:

  • Experience leading business-facing application support teams for critical enterprise applications, including incident management, operational readiness, service delivery, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience managing third-party support providers, including SLA management, escalations, vendor performance, and service accountability.
  • Experience leading major incident response, business continuity, operational governance, and support for critical business events (e.g., month-end close).
  • Experience leading and developing teams of business systems analysts, support analysts, or similar technology professionals.

Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge of Commercial business processes, including trading, scheduling, pricing, supply optimization, accounting close, invoicing, reporting, and data management.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise application environments and collaborating across business, product, IT, and managed service organizations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other computer-related degree required.
  • 10+ years of diversified IT experience​
