Full description

We are looking for Network technicians with 3+ years’ experience within Germany in Dispatch/On-Demand basis.

Core technical skills

Physical infrastructure (the bulk of the role)

  • Rack & stack: mounting switches, routers, firewalls, APs, PDUs; rail kits, cage nuts, torque, ESD discipline
  • Structured cabling: Cat5e/6/6A termination, patching, RJ45 crimping, keystone/patch panel work, cable management and dressing
  • Fibre: LC/SC/MPO handling, cleaning, polarity, transceiver install (SFP/SFP+/QSFP/QSFP28), DOM checks, bend-radius discipline
  • Power: A/B feed awareness, PDU port mapping, C13/C14/C19 leads, UPS basics
  • Device swaps: like-for-like replacement, DOA/RMA handling, serial capture, packaging and return logistics

Network fundamentals (enough to be useful, not to own config)

  • DHCP/DNS basics, default gateway, ARP, basic STP awareness
  • Console/CLI access: serial cable, PuTTY/SecureCRT, loading a config file, show commands, password recovery, IOS/firmware upload under supervision
  • Wireless: AP mounting, orientation, mounting heights, PoE injectors, basic RF awareness.

Vendor exposure

  • Cisco Catalyst/Nexus/ISR, Meraki, Aruba/HPE, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto — at physical/L1 level
  • Familiarity with rack elevations, as-built drawings, port maps

Tooling

Fluke cable certifier or equivalent, toner/probe, light source & power meter (OTDR for fibre-heavy scopes), crimpers/punch-down, label printer (Brady/Dymo), laptop with console adapter, basic hand tools, ladder/PPE.

Process & delivery skills

  • ServiceNow (or client ITSM) — ticket updates, worklogs, closure notes, evidence photos
  • Asset/CMDB accuracy: serials, asset tags, location, port mapping

Non-technical requirements (these decide placement more often than the tech)

  • Preferable but not mandatory: Valid driving licence and own vehicle; willingness to travel between sites
  • Local language at business level plus English (for Germany, B2–C1 as you already spec)
  • Customer-facing manner, lone working, site induction compliance
  • Out-of-hours, standby/callout and weekend change window availability
  • Right to work, background/security screening; site-specific clearance where applicable
  • H&S: working at height, ladder safety, PPE, LOTO and permit-to-work for factory/OT environments

Certifications

Baseline: CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCT Routing & Switching. Preferred: CCNA

Salary: 180 - 200 EUR Per day
