Job Description

1. Linux System Administration & Operations

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE, Oracle Linux etc.)
• Manage system processes, services, users, and permissions
• Perform system patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management
• Monitor and ensure system performance, uptime, and availability

2. Storage Management & Administration

• Configure, manage, and optimize enterprise storage systems (SAN/NAS/Object Storage)
• Administer storage technologies such as: LVM (Logical Volume Manager)File systems (ext4, XFS, NFS, etc.)RAID configurations
• Provision and manage storage volumes, file shares, and mount points
• Monitor storage utilization, performance, and capacity planning
• Ensure data availability, durability, and integrity

3. Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting

• Diagnose and resolve system and storage-related issues
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for performance bottlenecks
• Tune CPU, memory, disk I/O, and storage performance
• Implement proactive monitoring and alerting mechanisms

4. Automation & Scripting

• Develop and maintain scripts using Bash, Shell, or Python
• Automate tasks related to system provisioning, storage allocation, backups, and monitoring
• Use configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) to standardize environments

5. Backup, Recovery & Disaster Management

• Implement and manage backup and restore solutions for systems and storage
• Design and validate disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans
• Perform regular backup verification and recovery testing

6. Security & Hardening

• Apply Linux system hardening and storage security best practices
• Manage access control, encryption, and secure data storage
• Ensure compliance with data protection and security standards
• Address vulnerabilities through patching and remediation

7. Cloud & Infrastructure Integration

• Support Linux workloads in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Manage cloud-based storage solutions (e.g., EBS, Azure Disks, S3, Blob Storage)
• Work on hybrid setups integrating on-prem storage with cloud services

8. Collaboration & Documentation

• Collaborate with DevOps, application, database, and infrastructure teams
• Maintain documentation for system configurations, storage architecture, and procedures
• Provide technical guidance on Linux and storage best practices
