Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Architect / Data Engineer to design, build, and modernize enterprise-scale data platforms that power analytics, AI/ML, fraud detection, regulatory reporting, and business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate combines strategic architecture expertise with hands-on engineering experience to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement enterprise-scale data platforms, lakehouse architectures, and data warehouse solutions supporting analytics, AI/ML, fraud detection, and regulatory reporting.
- Build and maintain high-performance batch, streaming, and event-driven data pipelines to process large-scale data workloads.
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT frameworks using modern cloud-native and big data technologies.
- Create and maintain scalable data models, metadata frameworks, data lineage, and data quality controls to ensure trusted data assets.
- Lead and support cloud migration and modernization initiatives, enabling secure and efficient data platform transformation.
- Partner with architects, software engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable and reusable data products.
- Conduct design reviews, establish engineering standards, and mentor team members on data engineering best practices and platform development.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security, governance, performance, resiliency, and operational excellence requirements.
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience - Five to six years of relevant experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Strong expertise in Databricks, Apache Spark, Scala, PySpark, Delta Lake, and modern distributed data processing frameworks.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, Oracle, and data engineering best practices for large-scale enterprise environments.
- Experience designing and implementing data warehouses, lakehouse architectures, Medallion architecture, and dimensional data models.
- Hands-on experience building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, real-time streaming solutions, and event-driven architectures.
- Strong knowledge of Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms, cloud-native services, and data platform modernization strategies.
- Experience implementing data governance, lineage, metadata management, data quality, and compliance controls.
- Prior experience with Actimize platforms (SAM, CCD, UDM, or related solutions), preferably within Fraud, AML, Risk, or Regulatory Reporting environments.
- Proven ability to develop highly available, fault-tolerant, secure, and performance-optimized data solutions, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Location expectations This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $119,765.00 - $140,900.00
