Are you ready to get in on the ground floor of Amazon's long-term initiative to design, launch and maintain a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world? It's Day 1 for Amazon's next billion dollar business and we are looking for an entrepreneurial minded Sr Financial Analyst to work in a start-up environment who is passionate about technology, who thinks and acts globally, and has the ability to create and implement solutions, processes and controls.

As a Sr Financial Analyst, you will partner with the Finance Manager on the team to provide finance support to the software team. You will be responsible for forecasting, analyzing, and reporting all associated costs including headcount, operating expenses, and capital expenditures. You will partner with business leaders to develop operating plans including capital investment and funding needed to build a global infrastructure network. Success in this role requires you to partner with and influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment.

Key job responsibilities - Partner with Finance Manager to provide controllership oversight to Amazon Leo software team, ensuring financial processes and internal controls over financial reporting are properly implemented and maintained - Analyze and interpret financial data to provide investment recommendations that deliver measurable results and influence leaders throughout the organization, with decisions that can have global impacts to the business - Deliver high quality monthly and quarterly financial closing reports and forecasting plans, proactively diving deep to ensure reporting accuracy and regularly auditing your work - Build scalable and sustainable tracking mechanisms across business teams, collaborating with finance and business stakeholders to create effective partnerships and provide operational guidance based on data analysis - Use financial systems and advanced Excel functions to work with large data sets, producing plans, forecasts, budgets, and consolidations while identifying incomplete or inaccurate data and executing solutions

A day in the life You will collaborate with all types of stakeholders, from Vice Presidents and Directors to Program and Project Managers and other Finance Managers across multiple business units within Amazon Leo.

You are comfortable leading analyses with high ambiguity, creating a robust process to track and manage spending needs, presenting to business owners, and can pivot between the defined financial rhythms and ad-hoc project analyses.

You use judgment to prioritize high-priority work and projects that maximize results for key stakeholders, while helping to solve complex problems that affect company-wide decisions.

About the team This role is within Amazon Leo Finance and partners with the software business team. The team supports one of Amazon's most innovative initiatives, building a satellite constellation to bring connectivity to unserved and underserved communities globally.

Basic Qualifications: - 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - 3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field - 3+ years of contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience - 3+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience

Preferred Qualifications: - 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience - MBA, or CPA - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) - Knowledge of of financial reporting tools (Cognos, Redshift) - Experience in commercial finance business partnering or FP&A (at a multinational organisation)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
