ARES is the prime contractor for the Wallops Range Contract (WRC) supporting NASA Wallops Flight Facility. This contract delivers mission-critical range operations, engineering, maintenance, logistics, and sustainment services supporting orbital and suborbital launches, telemetry, radar, communications, and associated range infrastructure.
Position Overview
ARES is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support the WRC Program Team at Wallops Flight Facility. Responsibilities include performing analytical business functions such as financial and business analysis, project control, forecasts, and PMO administration in support of WRC contract management. Scope supports the Business Manager in the Program Office in implementing the business function as it relates to planning, staffing, executing, monitoring, and controlling throughout the five-year contract lifecycle.
The selected candidate will work closely with WRC and Ares Corporate management, technical teams, and subcontractors to manage all manner of financial activities with our NASA customer in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), NASA requirements, and ARES policies.
The successful candidate will learn and become proficient in the entire contract management business function and serve as a backup to the Business Manager should she be unavailable.
This is an onsite job at Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.
Minimum Requirements:
- Very strong communication and organization skills and the ability to work in a rapidly changing environment at one of the Nation’s busiest launch ranges. Must be adept at working with a wide variety of commercial and military customers with differing approaches to business.
- Very strong interpersonal skills and experience
- Direct experience of FAR and applicable agency supplements (e.g., NFS).
- Experience with software such as Costpoint and Maximo
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with financial software and quickly pick up new financial database software.
- Experience with financial reporting and financial analysis.
- Experience with project management practices, including planning, staffing, executing, monitoring, and controlling.
- Experience with labor categories and resource allocation as they relate to contracts and task orders.
- Strong financial analysis skills as it pertains to project management.
- Strong communication skills amongst groups of interested stakeholders including managers and customers.
- Ability to execute a variety of functions simultaneously, demonstrating strong multi-tasking abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent Excel skills: large data sets, pivot tables, formulas, reporting, graphing.
- Proficiency with Power BI and Cobra
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from Project Management Institute
- Proficiency with Deltek Cobra Earned Value and Cost management Software.
Education and Relevant Work Experience:
- MS/BS in business related discipline with 12 years specialized experience in areas such as management analysis, financial analysis, forecasting, budget preparation and analysis, cost/schedule analysis, business process reengineering, organizational performance assessments, strategic planning, project planning.
