Full description

Help shape how AI data centers are powered.

At SolarEdge (NASDAQ: SEDG), we're a global leader in smart energy technology, with over 3,000 employees, offices in more than 20 countries, and millions of installations worldwide. Solaredge is expanding its innovation into the fast-growing world of AI data-center power infrastructure. Building on our leadership in solar, storage, and power electronics, we are creating a next-generation Power Ecosystem — integrating Solid-State Transformers (SST), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS as UPS), and advanced power-conversion platforms designed for the AI era.

Join our UPS Data Centers group and play a key role in developing SolarEdge's next generation of high-performance power conversion and backup power solutions for data centers. As a Senior Hardware Design Engineer, you will take ownership of hardware development throughout the entire product lifecycle—from concept and design through validation and mass production—working on complex, multidisciplinary systems in a fast-paced environment.

We are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Developer to lead the design, development, and integration of embedded firmware solutions for complex HW/SW systems. The role involves developing production-grade software, driving technical decisions, supporting product bring-up, and working closely with hardware, validation, automation, and system engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware in C/C++ for real-time systems.
  • Develop software for microcontroller-based products and peripheral interfaces.
  • Lead debugging and root-cause analysis across hardware and software domains.
  • Define software architecture and drive implementation of new features.
  • Integrate communication protocols and external peripherals.
  • Participate in product bring-up, validation, and production support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Hardware, QA, Automation, System Engineering, and Product Management.
  • Perform code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
  • Support CI/CD processes and software release activities.
  • Drive software quality, reliability, and maintainability.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on embedded software development experience.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++.
  • Experience with ARM Cortex-M based microcontrollers.
  • Deep understanding of embedded systems architecture.
  • Experience with RTOS environments (Zephyr, FreeRTOS, ThreadX, etc.).
  • Experience debugging with JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of communication protocols:
  • CAN / CAN-FD, UART, SPI, I²C, Ethernet
  • Experience with Git-based development workflows.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with battery management systems (BMS).
  • Experience with power electronics or energy products.
  • Experience with Zephyr RTOS.
  • Experience with Embedded Linux application development
  • Experience in functional safety or secure boot implementations.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Python scripting and automation experience.
  • Experience working with Linux-based development environments.
  • Knowledge of OTA/FOTA update mechanisms.
