Job Summary: The Solutions Architect is responsible for designing and delivering scalable financial management solutions built on the ServiceNow platform. This role combines deep technical architecture expertise with strong customer-facing consulting capabilities to guide clients through the implementation of budgeting, billing, cost allocation, and financial management solutions within Brightfin’s ServiceNow-based applications.

 

The Solutions Architect partners with customer stakeholders, delivery teams, and product teams to translate financial management requirements into sustainable technical designs. This role leads technical solution architecture, facilitates workshops, supports user acceptance testing (UAT), and delivers training to ensure successful platform adoption and measurable business value.

 

Essential Functions / Duties / Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Technical Leadership

  • Lead the architecture and design of ServiceNow-based financial management solutions including budgeting, cost modeling, and billing.
  • Translate business and financial management requirements into scalable technical solution designs.
  • Define system architecture including data models, workflows, integrations, and reporting structures.
  • Ensure solutions leverage ServiceNow platform best practices and maximize use of out-of-the-box capabilities while minimizing unnecessary customization.
  • Provide architectural guidance to development teams throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Review solution builds and ensure technical designs align with delivery standards and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to identify product enhancements and improvements.

 

Client Consulting & Workshops

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers on IT Financial Management, budgeting processes, and cost allocation strategies.
  • Lead discovery sessions and solution design workshops with client stakeholders across finance, IT, and operations.
  • Facilitate working sessions to gather requirements related to budgeting structures, cost models, billing processes, and reporting needs.
  • Translate complex financial and operational requirements into actionable implementation plans.
  • Present technical solution designs and architecture recommendations to both technical and executive stakeholders.

Implementation & Delivery Support

  • Partner with Implementation Managers and Delivery Developers to guide technical execution of projects.
  • Participate in project planning activities, including architecture planning, solution scoping, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Assist delivery teams in resolving technical challenges and ensuring architectural alignment.
  • Define KPIs, financial metrics, and reporting frameworks to track cost transparency and financial performance.

Testing, Training & Adoption

  • Support and guide User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by defining testing strategies and validating system functionality.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for administrators, financial users, and operational teams.
  • Lead platform walkthroughs, product demonstrations, and customer enablement sessions.
  • Provide post-implementation guidance to ensure adoption and long-term success of the solution.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
  • 5+ years of experience implementing enterprise software solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience working with the ServiceNow platform.
  • Experience designing solutions related to financial management, budgeting, cost allocation, billing, or cost modeling.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into terms enterprise stakeholders can understand and act on.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
  • Experience with Technology Business Management (TBM) or IT Financial Management (ITFM) frameworks.

  • Strong expertise in ServiceNow platform architecture and application design.
  • Experience designing data models and financial structures for budgeting, cost allocation, and billing.
  • Ability to translate complex business and financial requirements into technical designs.
  • Excellent workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience leading UAT processes and customer training sessions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
  • Ability to prioritize work in fast-paced delivery environments.
