Senior Data Quality Engineer

OVERVIEW

As a Sr. Digital & Technology Quality Engineer, you will lead data quality engineering across complex projects that support trusted business insights. You will shape test strategy, strengthen governance, advance automation and quality practices, and partner with developers, business analysts, stakeholders, subject matter experts, and vendor teams. This is an opportunity to lead and mentor quality engineering teams, guide multiple initiatives, and help establish best practices across General Mills’ Digital and Technology organization.

Sr. Quality Engineer – Functional :

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES and PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 10–14 years of experience in software testing, with strong focus on functional and API testing.

• Experience driving sign-offs for test strategy, test plans, test cases, and governance-related deliverables.

• Strong capability in designing, documenting, and executing system integration and end-to-end test cases.

• Experience building and enhancing quality engineering and automation testing frameworks.

• Solid understanding of SDLC, testing methodologies, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.

• Hands-on experience in database, web, and API testing using SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and issue-tracking tools.

• Good knowledge of automation testing tools, microservices, API integration testing, and CI/CD DevOps practices.

• Experience working in Agile environments and managing testing across fast-paced, dynamic projects.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders.

• Proven leadership and mentorship experience, with the ability to drive quality initiatives and influence testing best practices.

• Preferred exposure to ISTQB or similar certification, cloud and data technologies, Python or JavaScript, Agentic AI tools, security testing, and compliance.

Sr. Quality Engineer – Data :

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES and PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with 10+ years of experience in data quality assurance or a similar role.

• Define quality engineering vision, prioritize testing activities, and ensure sign-offs for test strategies, test plans, test cases, and governance deliverables.

• Lead and mentor test teams, manage workloads and resources across projects, and coordinate effectively with vendor partners.

• Review data models, mappings, and architecture documents to design and execute system integration test plans, test data, and data validation activities.

• Oversee test execution, result analysis, failure diagnosis, defect prevention, and reporting of testing status and risks.

• Drive continuous improvement in quality engineering processes, framework development, documentation, tools, and testing methodologies.

• Strong technical experience in ETL testing, data automation, test design and execution, and unit, integration, and regression testing.

• Solid database and data-testing knowledge, including SQL, BigQuery, big data concepts, and data quality troubleshooting.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with developers, business analysts, stakeholders, SMEs, vendors, and source owners.

• Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects involving multiple technologies, tools, priorities, risks, budgets, and timelines.

• Preferred experience includes Agile testing, BI report testing, API testing, DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, and Google Cloud Platform services.

• Added advantage includes ISTQB certification, knowledge of Python or JavaScript, AI/ML, dbt, Monte Carlo, and experience using Agentic AI tools.

Sr. Quality Engineer – Automation :

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES and PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 10–14 years of experience in test automation and quality assurance roles.

• Strong proficiency in OOPS concepts and programming languages such as Java, C#, TypeScript, and Python.

• Expertise in automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium/Appium, Jasmine, and JMeter across web, mobile, UI, and API testing.

• Experience designing, implementing, and scaling automation testing and QA frameworks in domains such as eCommerce, web applications, or Ad Ops.

• Strong hands-on capability in SQL, database testing, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and test case creation from requirements or limited documentation.

• Solid understanding of SDLC, software engineering practices, testing methodologies, root-cause analysis, and issue-tracking tools such as JIRA and ADO.

• Experience executing functional, integration, regression, and performance testing, while managing test environments, reporting, and documentation.

• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align with developers, product managers, offshore teams, and senior leaders on testing objectives and progress.

• Proven leadership in mentoring junior team members, driving QA excellence, and contributing to training, process improvement, and automation innovation.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage commitments, budgets, risks, timelines, and multiple priorities.

• Preferred experience includes ISTQB or automation certifications, microservices and API integration testing, Gen AI, Google Cloud Platform, Big Data, AI/ML, Data Warehouse, ETL, Data Architecture, Agile testing, and CI/CD DevOps.
