Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager to join our growing Environmental Services practice in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is ideal for a professional with experience managing environmental assessment, industrial hygiene, hazardous building materials, and remediation projects while leading multidisciplinary teams and maintaining strong client relationships.

You will oversee projects involving asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, indoor air quality (IAQ), and industrial hygiene services, ensuring successful delivery from proposal through execution and closeout. The position requires strong project management, technical oversight, client engagement, and business development capabilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage environmental and industrial hygiene projects, including asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, IAQ, and broader environmental compliance assessments.
  • Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and execution to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring a high level of service throughout project lifecycles.
  • Coordinate field teams, subcontractors, laboratories, and technical specialists to support project delivery.
  • Review and oversee environmental sampling programs, field investigations, technical analyses, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Prepare and review proposals, scopes of work, cost estimates, technical reports, and project deliverables.
  • Manage project financial performance, including forecasting, invoicing, change orders, and profitability tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including EPA, OSHA, and Arizona-specific requirements.
  • Support business development activities by identifying new opportunities, developing client relationships, and contributing to proposal efforts.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff, supporting their technical and professional development.
  • Respond to planned and emergency environmental incidents and provide project leadership during critical response activities.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Promote and maintain a strong culture of health, safety, and quality across all project activities.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Project management experience within environmental consulting, industrial hygiene, remediation, compliance, or related technical services.
  • Proven experience managing environmental, industrial hygiene, hazardous materials, or remediation projects from planning through completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop project scopes, manage budgets, schedules, resources, subcontractors, and project deliverables.
  • Experience overseeing technical work related to asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, indoor air quality (IAQ), industrial hygiene, or environmental compliance projects.
  • Strong understanding of applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including EPA, OSHA, and Arizona regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent client relationship management, business development, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Strong technical writing and review skills, with experience preparing and reviewing proposals, reports, and project documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Proven leadership experience managing, mentoring, and developing technical staff and project teams.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites throughout Arizona and surrounding regions as needed.

  • Professional certifications such as:• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
  • AHERA Asbestos Inspector/Management Planner
  • EPA or Arizona Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor certifications
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER
  • Experience managing industrial hygiene programs, including exposure assessments, air monitoring, noise surveys, and occupational health evaluations.
  • Experience overseeing environmental investigations, remediation projects, and regulatory compliance programs.
  • Strong financial management skills, including project forecasting, invoicing, profitability tracking, and change order management.
  • Experience supporting business development efforts, proposal preparation, and client account growth.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams in consulting, engineering, environmental, or construction-related environments.
  • Familiarity with emergency response, incident management, and environmental compliance support for industrial, commercial, or public-sector clients.

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $85,000.00 - $125,000.00. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, management responsibility, etc.
