Job Summary
This DevOps Manager role is responsible for leading and developing a DevOps team to deliver stable, scalable platforms, services, and infrastructure across multiple projects. you will define career paths, mentors engineers on both technical and soft skills, and acts as the primary point of contact for stakeholders when dealing with infrastructure, deployment, and operational issues.
You will own delivery plans for CI/CD, cloud and infrastructure initiatives, ensuring realistic timelines, effective resource allocation, and risk management. The role involves close collaboration with Product, Engineering, QA, Security and other teams, plus the Head of Platform, to align DevOps strategy. The ideal candidate has proven leadership in DevOps/platform/infrastructure management, strong experience with cloud, IaC, CI/CD and operational excellence, and ideally exposure to cloud-native tooling such as Kubernetes, Terraform and containerization for highly-available, customer-facing platforms.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a DevOps team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to foster professional growth and technical development.
- Create career and development paths for both soft and hard skills of team members based on an assessment of team and business needs.
- Act as the first point of contact for stakeholders across multiple projects, coordinating the team to resolve infrastructure, deployment, and operational issues and deliver solutions on time.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, QA, Security and stakeholders, to ensure reliable delivery of platforms, services, and infrastructure.
- Work closely with the Head of Platform and other key stakeholders to align DevOps and platform strategies with business goals and OKRs.
- Establish and maintain delivery plans, ensuring efficient resource allocation, realistic timelines, and effective risk management across CI/CD, cloud, and infrastructure initiatives.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders, including progress reports, platform status, incident follow-ups, and any potential challenges or risks.
- Foster a culture of automation, reliability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the DevOps function.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, cloud technologies, infrastructure automation practices, and emerging tools, incorporating them where applicable.
Main Requirements
- Proven experience as a DevOps Manager, Platform Engineering Manager, Infrastructure Manager, or similar technical leadership role.
- Strong background in DevOps practices, cloud platforms, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability, and operational excellence.
- Experience managing people, including hiring, performance evaluation, coaching, and team development.
- Strong planning and project management skills, with the ability to build and execute delivery plans effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
- A strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a track record of improving platform reliability, deployment efficiency, and operational performance.
- Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
