About You
You are a detail-oriented QA Functional Analyst with a strong foundation in functional and manual software testing, ready to continue growing your career while taking greater ownership of quality assurance activities.
You enjoy understanding how applications and business processes should work, translating requirements into effective testing scenarios, identifying potential issues, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable solutions.
You are comfortable managing your assigned testing activities with increasing independence and communicating findings, risks, and defects clearly to the team.
Note: This is a hybrid position based in El Salvador, as some project-specific testing activities must be performed on-site, including biometric validation when required.
You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience.
- 2+ years of experience in Functional Quality Assurance.
- Hands-on experience performing manual and functional testing of software applications.
- Experience designing, executing, maintaining, and documenting test cases based on functional and business requirements.
- Experience performing regression testing as part of testing and release cycles.
- Experience validating end-to-end user journeys and business processes to ensure solutions behave as expected.
- Ability to identify, document, report, and follow up on defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Ability to work independently, organize assigned QA activities, and proactively communicate progress and blockers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues, understand expected behavior, and support effective resolution.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with developers and other multidisciplinary team members.
- Availability to work under a hybrid model in El Salvador and perform project-specific testing activities on-site when required.
You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities:
- Analyze functional and business requirements to identify appropriate testing scenarios and validation needs.
- Design, document, execute, and maintain functional test cases and testing scenarios.
- Perform manual, functional, regression, and end-to-end testing throughout different stages of the software development lifecycle.
- Validate complete user journeys and business processes, ensuring expected functionality and behavior.
- Execute project-specific testing that requires a local presence in El Salvador, including biometric validation when applicable.
- Identify, document, report, and follow up on defects, providing clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
- Validate resolved defects and execute regression testing to ensure existing functionality remains stable.
- Manage assigned QA activities independently while communicating progress, risks, and blockers proactively.
- Collaborate with developers and other team members to clarify expected behaviors and support issue resolution.
- Participate in team activities and contribute to maintaining effective QA practices throughout the project.
- Apply analytical thinking and strong attention to detail to identify potential quality risks before releases.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional experience in Functional Quality Assurance.
- Hands-on experience with manual, functional, regression, and end-to-end testing.
- Experience designing test cases, validating business requirements, and managing defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Availability to work under a hybrid model in El Salvador and perform on-site testing activities when required.
