PURPOSE:
The position of Pressure Vessel Sales Engineer serves to facilitate corporate growth initiatives and ongoing efforts in the ASME Code Markets. The Sales Engineer will build relationships and leverage their technical knowledge and experience to convert opportunities to orders.
SCOPE:
The primary duties and role of the position will fall under the Code Market of the organization; however, flexibility will be maintained to support other markets as necessary. This position will function to enhance existing relationships, develop new relationships, and position R-V Industries for growth in the Pressure Vessel Market.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Standard job duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Develop a deep understanding of R-V Industries pressure vessel experience and expertise. Stay updated with industry trends, standards, and regulations affecting the supply of pressure vessels.
- Work with Market Area Manager to review/develop business segment strategy and monitor progress of business plan goals and objectives.
- Maintain and grow relationships within our existing customers organizations at all levels. This includes our customers’ Purchasing, Engineering, and onsite Operations personnel. Intermittent travel will be required to our customers’ offices and production sites.
- Ability to present R-V Industries technical design and manufacturing capabilities to new and existing customers.
- Provide a commercial and technical qualification of any new opportunities and a technical review of customer drawings and specifications.
- Creates leverage by shaping timing, competitive positioning, scope clarity and next-step commitments.
- Responsible for the clarity of the customer need and it’s flow down to the internal multi-disciplined team.
- Assist in establishing a fair market sales price for the proposal. Follow established corporate procedures for proposal review.
- Submit a proposal to the client that includes the necessary elements to satisfy the needs of the request.
- Contact clients to follow up on the status of active proposals and strategize to acquire the maximum volume of work based on the follow up results.
- Accurately manage and maintain all customer information including contacts, shipping addresses, and invoicing instructions.
- Accurately manage and maintain all quote information including projected order date, probabilities, customer feedback, and customer forecasts.
- Partner with Marketing and other functional teams on the development and launch of new services and offerings.
- Review actual costing vs. estimate to evaluate performance.
- Assist in reviewing potential new and existing products for development and/or enhancement.
- Attend industry specific meetings and trade shows as required to facilitate networking and teambuilding opportunities.
- Attend training seminars and continuing education opportunities as necessary or required to support personal and professional development initiatives.
- Other duties as required to support corporate sales, service and support objectives.
DESCRIPTION:
This individual is responsible for creating sufficient revenue to provide a positive impact on the bottom line profitability of the organization. Direct reporting structure is to the Code Market Area Manager.
