Data Engineer I

Full time; Exempt

General Description:

DMI Software, the San Francisco branch of Dovenmuehle Mortgage, Inc, the leading sub-servicer of mortgage loans in the United States, is looking for a talented and enthusiastic data engineer. Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Design, implement, automate, and maintain large-scale enterprise ETL processes.
  • Evolve data model and schema based on business and engineering needs.
  • Track and manage data quality and consistency.
  • Collaborate with data analysts to bridge business goals with data delivery.
  • Analysis and reporting
  • Successfully complete annual regulatory compliance training.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Computer Science, Statistics, etc.)
  • Experience working with analysis tools (PowerBI, Jasper Reports, Tableau, Talend)
  • Strong SQL experience in any dialect
  • Familiarity with cloud environments and related tools
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with Databricks or other unified data platforms is a plus!
  • Experience with Spark, Hadoop, Flink, or other Apache data tools is a plus!

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The employee must be comfortable in either an on-site office setting, or a quiet, designated work from home space that is free from distractions and noise. The employee is regularly required to communicate (give/receive) information through multiple methods of communication with clear understanding from others. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position and/or move about the organization or remote office. The employee may be required to frequently operate a standard variety of office equipment including computers, calculators, copy machines, computer printers and phones. The noise level, if working on-site, is usually moderate and typical of an office environment.
