Our client is a family-owned and operated heavy civil contractor with decades of experience delivering complex construction projects throughout Southern Utah. Generating approximately $100 million in annual revenue, the company has built a strong reputation through its ability to self-perform critical scopes including earthwork, underground utilities, and paving, while also operating its own aggregate division.

The company is highly vertically integrated, offering in-house engineering and design capabilities to support a diverse portfolio of heavy civil, public works, commercial, residential, and private projects. Its strong self-performance capabilities allow the organization to maintain greater control over quality, schedule, and cost while providing clients with comprehensive project solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Project Manager to join a growing organization with a strong presence in the Southern Utah market and direct exposure to significant UDOT and infrastructure work.

About the Position

We are seeking a Project Manager to join the team in Hurricane, Utah, supporting heavy civil projects throughout the St. George area.

The Project Manager will report to the department head at the corporate office and work closely with field supervisors, project owners, and contract field management. This individual will serve as an important representative of the company in client relationships and contract negotiations and will help transition awarded projects to the onsite project management and field teams for successful execution.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, hardworking construction professional who understands heavy civil construction, can manage multiple project requirements, communicates professionally with clients, and is willing to help identify and pursue new sources of work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project documentation and administrative requirements, including change orders, RFIs, RFPs, submittals, and related paperwork.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, project schedules, and other project resources.
  • Develop estimates, quantity takeoffs, project budgets, and billings for assigned projects.
  • Assist onsite management with monthly project billings and financial tracking.
  • Coordinate closely with field supervisors and onsite project management to support successful project execution.
  • Represent the company professionally in communications and relationships with project owners, clients, and contract representatives.
  • Participate in contract negotiations and other client-facing activities.
  • Prepare marketing materials, prequalification packages, and other documentation for prospective clients.
  • Assist field teams as needed to keep projects moving efficiently and address project challenges.
  • Help identify, develop, and secure alternative sources of work and new business opportunities.
  • Support projects involving bridges, earthwork, underground and wet utilities, asphalt, and other heavy civil scopes.
  • Perform other project management and business development responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–7 years of relevant construction experience.
  • Experience in heavy civil construction is strongly preferred.
  • Underground utilities experience is a plus.
  • Experience with UDOT projects or similar public infrastructure work is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with bridges, earthwork, underground/wet utilities, asphalt, or aggregate operations is preferred.

is a plus but not required.

  • Ability to understand estimates, takeoffs, budgets, schedules, billings, and project documentation.
  • Professional communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Willingness to pursue new business opportunities and alternative sources of work.
  • Must be available to work in person in the Southern Utah market.
