Senior Android Developer

For one of our key clients in the Netherlands, we are looking for a Senior Android Engineer to build features for millions of banking customers on a global native app platform. You'll be part of a team responsible for the base app, global features, and the capabilities that allow other teams across multiple countries to build and integrate local experiences — all at scale, all to the highest engineering standard.

This is a role for someone who builds it, owns it, and takes pride in doing it right.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain Android features on a global mobile banking platform used across multiple countries.

• Take full ownership of features throughout their lifecycle — from design and implementation through to production support and continuous improvement.

• Coach and support fellow engineers through knowledge sharing, code reviews, feedback, and technical guidance.

• Contribute to technical design decisions and help drive engineering excellence across the Android domain.

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders across multiple countries to deliver scalable global solutions.

• Give presentations and workshops, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

• Actively challenge existing concepts and approaches to improve delivery speed and customer experience.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of professional experience designing, building, and maintaining Android applications.

• Extensive hands-on Kotlin experience in production environments.

• You write testable code and back it up with proper tests — Espresso, unit tests, and screenshot tests.

• Security and accessibility are built into how you work, not bolted on at the end.

• A true DevOps mindset: you design it, build it, test it, deploy it, monitor it, and own it.

• Strong collaborator who actively shares knowledge and is genuinely interested in others' work.

• Comfortable in Agile environments, working closely with business and technology stakeholders.

• Proactive communicator — with many teams across many countries, you reach out rather than wait.

• Fluent English, spoken and written.

Nice to have

• Experience working on large-scale, multi-country or multi-brand mobile platforms.

• Background contributing to shared platform capabilities used by downstream engineering teams.

• Experience running workshops or internal tech talks.
