As the Senior Manager, Solutions Engineering, you will lead a team that connects Solution Design, Implementation, and Operations across GXO's OmniChannel Retail and Ecommerce divisions. You will provide operational expertise throughout the customer lifecycle, from early-stage RFPs and solution assessments through implementation, site launch, go-live, and operational stabilization. You will lead teams in evaluating facility designs, process flows, staffing requirements, automation strategies, and operational risks while driving continuous improvement, cost savings, and productivity initiatives across the network.

What you'll do on a typical day:
- Lead Solutions Engineering activities throughout the RFP, implementation, and operational lifecycle, providing Operations input on facility design, productivity rates, automation strategies, staffing requirements, and other key solution elements
- Provide subject-matter expertise on warehouse operations, labor requirements, WMS, automation capabilities, and operational constraints to ensure solutions are practical and executable
- Review proposed KPIs, SLAs, contractual requirements, solution assumptions, and cost models while identifying and escalating risks that could impact operational performance
- Partner with Implementations, Operations, HR, Analytics, and customers during joint planning and implementation to validate assumptions, develop volume and headcount ramp plans, and ensure the solution delivered matches the solution designed
- Lead Production Readiness Testing, develop solution-specific test cases, support User Acceptance Testing, and ensure KPI reporting is established prior to go-live
- Provide on-site support through site launch, go-live, and hypercare, helping Operations teams stabilize performance and transition to full operational ownership
- Identify and lead Continuous Improvement initiatives that deliver cost savings, productivity improvements, process optimization, and other business improvements across the network
- Develop business cases, conduct root-cause analysis, time studies, simulations, pilots, and process improvement activities, and present recommendations and validated results to leadership and Finance
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team while establishing clear expectations, accountability, performance goals, and career development opportunities
What you need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent related work or military experience
- 8+ years of related work experience
- Strong knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data, processes, systems, and procedures
- Extensive knowledge of warehouse operations, supply chain management, and warehouse production environments
- Expertise in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), supply chain automation, warehousing solutions, and production planning methodologies
- Strong knowledge of Lean Warehousing and warehouse/supply chain processes
- Experience using analytical and process improvement tools, including flow charts, Pareto charts, cause-and-effect diagrams, and run charts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to various audiences
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
It'd be great if you also have:
- Master's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- Experience owning the development, enhancement, and maintenance of end-to-end solutions and deliverables
- Experience using AutoCAD to develop facility layouts and detailed work areas
- Lean or Six Sigma Black Belt certification
- Expert data management and SQL skills
