Project Info
Kwinana Energy Recovery is Australia's first large-scale waste-to-energy facility, owned and operated by ACCIONA in Kwinana, Western Australia. The plant converts up to 460,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste each year into 38 megawatts of baseload renewable electricity, enough to power more than 55,000 homes, while recovering valuable metals for reuse.
About Opportunity
Reporting to the O&M Manager (SPV), the Engineering & Maintenance Manager leads the Engineering team at Kwinana Energy Recovery and deputises for the O&M Manager when required. You will drive safe, efficient and compliant performance across a 24-hour shift operation, overseeing asset management, maintenance delivery and contractor control. The role also builds strong working relationships across site to keep operations running smoothly and objectives on track.
Key accountabilities:
- Lead high-performing teams, build engineering team capability and a performance-driven, plant availability-focused culture, including mentoring and resourcing.
- Drive safety culture implementing safe working systems and embed Acciona's Quality, Safety and Environmental objectives across Operations.
- Own asset & maintenance delivery leading maintenance activities to completion on time, and develop strategic plans for facility availability with Engineers.
- Manage contracts & contractors, control contractor work areas and ensure sites meet all contractual/performance obligations.
- Report on performance, prepare submissions, reports, and KPIs
Required Skills and Competencies
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- 10+ years industry experience
- Experience leading large, diverse project teams
- Strong to advanced Excel skills
