Full description

Job Purpose:

With the assistance of the VP-Operations, the Sales Engineer will manage all aspects of the sales function including the quoting process

 

Duties:

  • Assist with the Sales and Marketing efforts including but not limited to:
  • Seeking out new potential customers
  • Develop marketing plans
  • Develop new products with existing customers
  • Manage the quoting process including processing quotes for new or existing customers
  • Oversee projects for new or existing customers
  • Assist in the APQP process for new parts
  • Work closely with Engineering on new potential projects

 

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

 

EDUCATOION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or three or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

 MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited information exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
