Job Description

Data Analyst – Data Cleansing, Data Quality & Data Conformance

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to support enterprise data initiatives by ensuring high-quality, accurate, and standardized data across business systems. The role involves data cleansing, quality assessment, data conformance, validation, profiling, and collaborating with business and technical teams to improve data integrity and governance.

Key Responsibilities

Data Cleansing

  • Analyze and identify data inconsistencies, duplicates, missing values, and inaccurate records.
  • Perform data cleansing, standardization, and enrichment activities.
  • Develop and implement data correction and remediation processes.
  • Establish data cleansing rules and validation checks to improve data accuracy.

Data Quality Management

  • Monitor, measure, and report data quality metrics and KPIs.
  • Conduct data profiling and root cause analysis for data quality issues.
  • Define and implement data quality standards, controls, and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to resolve data anomalies and improve data reliability.
  • Support data governance initiatives and compliance requirements.

Data Conformance & Standardization

  • Ensure data adheres to enterprise standards, business rules, and regulatory requirements.
  • Map and transform data from multiple source systems into standardized formats.
  • Validate conformance with master data definitions, reference data, and metadata standards.
  • Support data migration, integration, and system implementation projects by ensuring data consistency.

Analysis & Reporting

  • Perform data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Create dashboards and reports to track data quality performance.
  • Provide actionable recommendations based on data findings.
  • Communicate analysis results to business and technical stakeholders.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with Data Governance, Business Analysts, Data Engineers, and Product Owners.
  • Participate in data quality improvement initiatives and governance forums.
  • Document data quality issues, business rules, and remediation actions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Data Analysis, Data Quality, or Data Governance.
  • Strong SQL skills for data extraction, validation, and analysis.
  • Experience with data profiling and data quality tools (Informatica DQ, Ataccama, Talend, Collibra, IBM Information Analyzer, etc.).
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration concepts.
  • Experience with Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
  • Understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Governance principles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
