What You Will Do:
At Independent Software, as a Data Scientist Level 2, you will apply data science and analytical techniques to support targeting, access discovery, and mission-focused research. You will research technologies and capabilities, analyze complex data, develop models, and create visualizations to support technical and operational objectives.
This position requires strong research and analytical skills and the ability to apply quantitative and qualitative techniques to complex mission problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research to support targeting, access discovery, and technology analysis
- Research capabilities for target knowledge and technology opportunities
- Perform data modeling and develop analytical approaches to complex data
- Apply computational mathematics and quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques
- Analyze and interpret complex datasets to identify patterns, relationships, and relevant findings
- Develop data visualizations to communicate analytical results
- Apply Python and other analytical tools to data science problems
- Support research and analysis involving technical and mission-specific information
- Document analytical methodologies, research, and findings
- Collaborate with technical and mission teams to support operational objectives
Required Skills and Qualifications: • Strong research and analytical skills
- Experience with data modeling, computational mathematics, or quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques
- Experience analyzing complex datasets
- Experience developing data visualizations
- Proficiency with Python
- Experience with XKS/DX or other automated analytics workflow development
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to independently research and analyze technical information
The following experience is a plus: • CNO/CNE
- Targeting
- Access discovery and development
- SWAT/AWST
- SIGDEV/SIGINT/CNO experience with the ability to perform data science
Education and Experience:
Candidates must meet one of the following: • Bachelor's degree with three (3) years of relevant experience; OR
- Associate's degree with five (5) years of relevant experience

Degree should be in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
Degrees in Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Physical Sciences, or other scientific disciplines with a strong computational, mathematics, or computer science background may also be considered.
Candidates with other degree disciplines may qualify if they have earned a Data Science certificate from an accredited college or university.
Relevant experience may include machine learning, data science, advanced analytics, statistical analysis, programming, data management, data mining, data modeling, artificial intelligence, or software engineering.
Clearance Requirement: • Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
