What you'll do:
- Design, train, and deploy computer vision models for object detection, image-based personalization, including product discovery, visual recommendations, and generative image content.
- Build and scale foundation model pipelines that leverage multimodal signals — including text, images, and customer embeddings — to power highly personalized visual experiences.
- Mentor team members on best practices, lead innovation efforts on image generative modeling, including diffusion models, CNNs, or text-to-image synthesis aligned with retail context.
- Design model workflow that integrates with MLOps to optimize model performance and latency, deploy and monitor models in production environments, ensuring performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions.
- Establish best practices and reusable analytical frameworks for the team
- Ensure models are production-ready by collaborating with engineering on scalability, monitoring, and integration
- Set modeling standards, review approaches, and mentor team members on advanced techniques
- Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable narratives for senior and executive stakeholders
- Proactively identify new growth levers and influence roadmap prioritization
- Act as a strategic advisor to cross-functional leaders, driving alignment on high-impact initiatives
- Drive adoption of best practices in data science, experimentation, and decision-making across the organization
What you'll bring:
- MS or (preferably) PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field, with 7+ years of industry or research experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in deep learning for computer vision, including CNNs, vision transformers (ViTs), and diffusion-based generative models.
- Experience building and deploying image generation, manipulation, or understanding systems in production — such as visual search, personalized image recommendations.
- Strong familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, torchvision, Hugging Face, GPU deepstream.
- Familiarity with multimodal models (e.g., CLIP, BLIP, Flamingo) that combine vision and language for richer customer understanding and content personalization.
- Deep expertise in SQL and Python (pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels) and experience working with large-scale datasets
- Proven track record of building and scaling models in production environments
- Advanced understanding of experimentation, causal inference, and statistical modeling
- Experience with cloud data ecosystems (e.g., BigQuery, Spark) and production-grade data workflows
- Good to be skilled in model optimization and fine-tuning approaches such as PEFT, LoRA, adapters, model distillation and domain adaptation to efficiently customize large language models.
- Proficient in building retrieval and search systems using embeddings, semantic and hybrid search, and vector databases including FAISS, Milvus or Weaviate.
- Strong background in computer vision covering image classification, object detection, segmentation (semantic and instance) using architectures like CNNs, ResNet or EfficientNet or Vision Transformers (ViT, Swin).
- Good to have experience in generative AI techniques including RLHF, DPO, GPRO, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), multi-agent systems, AI agents, MCP design, memory systems, context window optimization for scalable LLM applications.
- Good to have Experience with multimodal and generative models including CLIP, DINO, VQA, image captioning, diffusion models (Stable Diffusion), GANs, and video models such as VideoMAE and optical/crowd flow segmentation.
