About the role:

AIQ is looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to drive quality at scale across our tech stack through smart, scalable test solutions. Join us to shape the future of AI-driven platforms by collaborating closely with design, product, and engineering teams!

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with product managers, architects, and senior developers to refine complex user stories, establish precise acceptance criteria, and influence design for testability and quality.
  • Proactively identify systemic weaknesses in applications and infrastructure, prioritizing high-impact areas and defining risk-based testing strategies.
  • Architect and evolve a comprehensive automated testing framework, incorporating data-driven, performance, and visual validation approaches across multiple platforms.
  • Design, implement, and optimize advanced automated test suites for frontend, backend, APIs, and integration layers using state-of-the-art frameworks and tools.
  • Lead root cause analysis of critical defects, mentor engineers in best practices for defect prevention, and ensure robust resolution tracking.
  • Drive end-to-end test coverage, including edge cases, failure modes, scalability, and security-sensitive components.
  • Oversee test data strategy, ensuring realistic production-like scenarios and governance of sensitive data.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on quality metrics through advanced dashboards, trend analysis, and predictive insights.
  • Champion integration of testing within CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless automation and continuous quality gates.
  • Act as a quality evangelist within the engineering organization, promoting early testing, peer review rigor, and measurable improvements in code/test coverage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to proactively resolve complex application and system issues, influencing technical decisions with a quality-first mindset.

Qualifications:

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. Advanced certifications in software testing or automation are an advantage.

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • 6+ years of professional experience in QA automation for complex, data-intensive, and web-based enterprise applications.
  • Proven expertise in designing and executing data-driven testing strategies, with hands-on validation of advanced data visualizations, analytics dashboards, and reporting systems.
  • Deep proficiency with modern automation tools and frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium, including building and scaling custom automation frameworks.
  • Strong programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js, React, Angular) and/or Python (Flask, Django), with the ability to debug and contribute to application code when needed.
  • Advanced experience with unit and integration test frameworks such as Mocha, Jest, pytest, or Unittest, and the ability to mentor junior engineers in their use.
  • Demonstrated ability to write modular, reusable, and scalable test code; experienced in maintaining robust automation libraries.
  • In-depth knowledge of QA methodologies, risk-based test planning, regression strategy, and the defect lifecycle.
  • Strong experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions, with a focus on continuous quality and release readiness.
  • Proficient with version control and collaborative development workflows using Git.
  • Solid expertise in REST API testing and automation, with the ability to validate end-to-end integrations across distributed systems.
  • Strong knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL), including validating data integrity, flows, and transformations across environments.
  • Extensive experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, driving quality practices in sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, and release planning.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence design and architectural decisions for quality.
  • High attention to detail with a proactive, quality-first mindset that prevents issues before release.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI or similar data visualization platforms is a significant advantage.
