The AI Teams at Agile Robots is looking for a (Senior) Robotic Software Engineer (m/f/d) Teleoperation & Robotic Data Collection, who will build next-generation robotic teleoperation and data collection systems, enabling high-quality demonstration data for foundation model training, imitation learning, and Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models.
Your Responsibilities
- Teleoperation Methods: Develop AR-assisted, language-guided, and shared-autonomy teleoperation methods for large-scale robotic data collection.
- Shared Autonomy: Fine-tune foundation and deep learning models to support intelligent shared autonomy during teleoperation.
- Hardware Integration: Integrate VR/AR devices, motion capture systems, and teleoperation hardware with robotic platforms, ensuring reliable real-time communication and an intuitive operator experience.
- System Improvement: Improve the usability, robustness, and performance of teleoperation systems.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with AI and robotics teams to translate research requirements into production-ready software.
Essential Skills
- Background: Master's degree in computer science, robotics, automation, electrical engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of formal training and professional experience.
- Professional Experience: 2 to 5+ years of professional experience in robotics software engineering.
- Robotic Integration: Hands-on experience integrating perception, manipulation, and teleoperation on real robotic platforms, including work with ROS2 and robotic software development.
- Programming: Working proficiency in Python for robotics software development, with familiarity with C++ considered a plus.
- Learning-Based Robotics: Experience working with Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models, imitation learning, deep learning, or robot foundation models.
Beneficial Skills
- Teleoperation Frameworks: Experience with GEllo or similar robotic teleoperation frameworks.
- Data Collection: Experience with egocentric data collection, demonstration recording pipelines, or data infrastructure for embodied AI and imitation learning.
- Motion Sensing: Experience with human motion capture, hand tracking, or motion retargeting.
- Immersive Development: Experience with Unity or Unreal Engine development for AR/VR applications.
- Systems & Deployment: Experience with SLAM, Docker, or cloud-based deployment.
