Job Summary
Zurich Life Assurance plc is looking for a Data Scientist within the Data Analytics department. This role is ideal for an analytically strong, hands‑on data professional with experience or strong interest in developing coding, statistical modelling & analysis, data visualization, machine learning, or AI that wants to apply these capabilities to real insurance & operational challenges.
You will work with departments across the company to help them get their hands on the data that they need to perform & improve their jobs and to turn data into actionable insight by performing complex analyses, developing models, and building dashboards & reports. You will also work with departments to build AI agents & tools to help improve quality & efficiency.
This role may be available on a part-time or full-time basis. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognize that sometimes those people are not available full-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.
Your Role
As a Data Scientist, your main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily limited to, the following:
- Development of analytical solutions and models to support various departments.
- Designing, building, & maintaining robust data pipelines, datasets, & codebases that support regular MI, dashboards, & advanced analytics.
- Developing and maintaining dashboards & reports that provide insight to various departments.
- Developing solutions that make it easy for people to get their hands on the data they need for their job.
- Developing & maintaining AI agents & solutions that improve quality & efficiency.
Your Skills & Experience
As a Data Scientist, your skills and qualifications will include some or all of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Coding skills, preferably in Python, with experience of writing clean, reusable, well-structured code.
- Practical experience (or strong interest in learning) with statistical modelling or machine learning techniques, such as the following:
- Generalized linear models (GLMs) or other regression methods
- Tree-based methods (e.g. random forests, gradient boosting)
- Time series modelling and forecasting
- Clustering and segmentation techniques
- Experience with data-visualization tools, preferably Tableau.
- Experience with AI tools, preferably MS Copilot Studio
Additional Information
Primary work location is Blackrock but occasional travel may be required to other Zurich locations.
