The Munich based Accounting team is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our accounting organization and become a major contributor to our Accounting team. Key job responsibilities
- Being a strong team player taking ownership and demonstrating self-initiative
- Drive or participate in national and international accounting projects
- Business partnering within the Amazon group
- Develop and manage scalable and automated processes
- International coordination with the global Accounting organization
- Responsibility for month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing of financial books.
- Assessment and evaluation of GAAP-to-GAAP differences
- Support improvements in accounting processes, internal workflows and implementation of best practices
About the team Finance and Global Business Services
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field, or experience or equivalent experience in finance roles - Knowledge of one or multiple accounting frameworks (including US GAAP, IFRS, or local GAAP frameworks), with the ability to apply them in day-to-day financial activities - Speak, write, and read fluently in English - Experience supporting month-end closing processes and contributing to financial reporting under established procedures - Experience supporting the implementation of controls or contributing to audits over financial reporting environments - Experience using financial models, KPIs, and data analysis to support business decisions - Knowledge of SOX methodology and associated standards (sections 302, 404, AS5, PCAOB, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications: - Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent) - Experience developing financial models in Excel with advanced functions (pivot tables, macros, VBA, Power Query) - Experience with data analytics platforms (Power BI, Python, SQL, Tableau)
