Summary
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the installation, administration, maintenance, security, and continuous improvement of Rio Grande Credit Union's technology infrastructure. This position supports enterprise systems, servers, cloud services, networking, endpoint management, and business applications to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient technology operations.
The Systems Administrator works collaboratively with Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Business Systems, vendors, and business units to provide exceptional technical support while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational security standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Windows Server and enterprise infrastructure.
- Administer VMware and virtual server environments.
- Manage Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PKI, file and print services.
- Support Microsoft 365 including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Administer Microsoft Intune, endpoint management, Autopilot, and mobile device management.
- Monitor infrastructure health, capacity, performance, and availability.
- Perform system maintenance, patching, firmware updates, and lifecycle management.
- Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
- Implement cybersecurity best practices and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Support enterprise networking including switches, wireless, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Develop PowerShell scripts and automation to improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and configuration standards.
- Participate in infrastructure projects, migrations, and technology implementations.
- Provide Tier III technical support for complex infrastructure, server, cloud, networking, virtualization, storage, identity management, endpoint management, and enterprise application issues.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for incidents and service requests that cannot be resolved by Tier I or Tier II support personnel.
- Collaborate with the Help Desk to improve knowledge transfer and first-contact resolution.
- Coordinate with vendors and participate in on-call support and scheduled maintenance.

Education and/or Experience
Experience- 2 to 5 years related experience.
Education- 2-year degree or completion of a specialized course of study OR 5 years of related experience.
Core Technologies Supported
The Systems Administrator is expected to develop and maintain proficiency in technologies that support the Credit Union's enterprise environment, including, but not limited to:
- Infrastructure: Microsoft Windows Server, virtualization platforms, enterprise storage, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
- Identity & Productivity: Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and PKI.
- Endpoint Management: Microsoft Intune, ManageEngine Endpoint Central, Windows Autopilot, mobile device management (MDM), endpoint compliance, software deployment, patch management, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Networking: Enterprise switching, routing, VLANs, TCP/IP, wireless networking, VPN technologies, firewalls, and Software-Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN).
- Security & Automation: Multi-factor authentication (MFA), identity and access management (IAM), Microsoft Defender, vulnerability management, PowerShell, scripting, and automation.
- Business Systems: Symitar core banking platform, Microsoft Office applications, enterprise monitoring, and IT service management (ITSM) solutions.
Physical, Mental and Working Requirements
This position requires the ability to perform primarily sedentary office work, operate standard office equipment, and use a computer for extended periods. Must be able to communicate effectively, follow instructions, manage multiple priorities, and maintain professionalism under deadlines. Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment. Occasional extended hours or off-site travel may be required. Regular attendance and the ability to handle confidential information are essential.
