Our Mission
Everyone remembers the feeling of opening something they didn't expect to love at first but ended up wearing everyday. At IcyBox, we're building on that feeling and turning the thrill of the unknown into a business that scales. What started as a fast-moving watch commerce and mystery box company is becoming something bigger: a durable consumer brand that people trust, return to, and talk about. We move quickly, we sweat the details, and we're not afraid to build the plane while flying it. If you want to be close to the center of a company still writing its own playbook, this is that kind of place.
Our Values
- Move Fast, Build Right: Speed matters, but so does the thing you're building. We'd rather ship today and fix tomorrow than sit on something perfect and late.
- Own the Gap: When nobody owns it, that's exactly where we lean in. Ambiguity isn't an excuse to wait, it's an invitation to lead.
- Clarity Is a Gift: Messy information helps no one. We turn noise into options, options into decisions, and decisions into action.
- Trust Over Title: Influence here comes from follow-through, not org-chart position. The best ideas win regardless of who's in the room.
- Say the Real Thing: Hard conversations happen early and directly, because that's what actually moves things forward.
- Do the Unglamorous Work: From a schema migration to an on-call page to a leadership dashboard, no task is beneath getting the company where it needs to go.
The Role
IcyBox is looking for a Senior Product Designer to own the design of the experience that fuels a fast-moving, high-growth consumer business. This is a high-impact, execution-focused role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and knows how to design intuitive, trustworthy digital experiences across a complex, fast-changing organization. You'll be the connective tissue between product, engineering, and marketing, owning the browsing, purchase, reveal, and buyback flows that define how a user feels about IcyBox.
You'll help build the design foundation that lets IcyBox scale from a fast-moving watch commerce and mystery box business into a durable consumer brand. This role is ideal for someone who is creatively sharp, detail-obsessed, and energized by being close to the center of the business. You'll get exposure to strategic decisions, company-building problems, and cross-functional execution from day one, with the autonomy to identify what needs to happen and drive it forward yourself.
This is not a purely visual role. It's a builder/operator role for someone who can move from a wireframe to a design system decision to a stakeholder conversation about pricing transparency without losing momentum. Some days you'll be designing the reveal moment. Some days you'll be untangling why a flow isn't converting. Some days you'll be building a system that makes the whole product sharper every week after you're done.
What You'll Do
- Talk to users, dig into behavioral and transactional data, and unearth insights to inform design and product decisions.
- Design the core reveal experience, balancing delight and anticipation with clarity about what a user has received.
- Design clear, trustworthy flows for purchase, digital wallet management, buyback offers, and shipping decisions.
- Create wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and other artifacts to guide development of the IcyBox product.
- Contribute to and evolve IcyBox's design system and style guide as the product scales.
- Work directly with cross-functional product teams, incorporating decisions, feedback, and tradeoffs into the design.
- Partner with Engineering to ensure designs are implemented with fidelity and performance in mind.
- Work with Marketing and Growth to ensure product experiences align with brand storytelling and campaign moments.
- Use experimentation and user feedback to refine flows like onboarding, checkout, and the buyback decision.
- Proactively flag UX or trust issues that could affect user confidence, especially around how probability and pricing information is displayed.
- Create documentation, prototypes, and design playbooks that make repeatable work easier as IcyBox scales.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of experience in a product design role designing web and mobile experiences, ideally with consumer or marketplace exposure.
- A track record of designing for both delight and trust simultaneously in ambiguous, fast-moving environments without needing a detailed playbook.
- Strong experience with Figma and other standard design and prototyping tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain design rationale and tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- High ownership and strong follow-through: you're the person who makes sure a flow actually ships and actually works.
- Low ego and strong relationship instincts. You influence through clarity, trust, and execution rather than title.
- Strong systems thinking, building and maintaining a design system as the product and team grow.
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and the answer isn't always obvious.
- Genuine curiosity about consumer brands, watches, marketplaces, and how design shapes trust in a high-growth company.
- Willingness to do both strategic and unglamorous work, from a design system decision to a one-off marketing asset.
Nice to Have
- Experience at a high-growth startup or consumer company.
- Experience with e-commerce, marketplaces, luxury goods, watches, collectibles, or consumer apps.
- Comprehensive product design portfolio showing range across research, systems, and polish.
- Experience designing for products involving randomized outcomes, chance-based mechanics, or pricing transparency.
Why This Role Matters
IcyBox is moving quickly across product, marketing, operations, sourcing, fulfillment, and customer experience, and design is what makes the excitement of a reveal feel earned rather than deceptive. The Senior Product Designer will help create the clarity, polish, and trust that let the team grow without ever losing the customer's confidence. This person will be trusted with high-priority work, exposed to the full business, and expected to make IcyBox's product experience stronger every single week.
