This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Cloud Architect based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to lead a major enterprise cloud transformation initiative supporting mission-critical government operations.The position focuses on architecting and executing the migration of complex Oracle database and data warehouse environments to a secure cloud platform.You will provide technical leadership across planning, assessment, migration, and stabilization phases while ensuring operational continuity.The ideal candidate will work across architecture, engineering, security, and data teams to deliver scalable and compliant solutions.This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced cloud professional who thrives in regulated environments and complex modernization programs.You will play a key role in shaping cloud strategy, managing technical risks, and enabling reliable reporting capabilities for enterprise users.

Accountabilities The Cloud Architect will lead the design, planning, and execution of a large-scale enterprise data warehouse migration while ensuring security, performance, and operational readiness. This role requires strong technical leadership, stakeholder coordination, and the ability to drive complex cloud initiatives from assessment through completion.

  • Lead architecture planning and implementation for the migration of enterprise Oracle database and data warehouse environments to a secure cloud platform, ensuring a scalable and supportable target architecture.
  • Conduct legacy environment assessments covering databases, infrastructure, integrations, security, and operations, while identifying and managing remediation activities required for migration readiness.
  • Define and maintain cloud architecture documentation, including environment designs, networking approaches, security controls, identity and access management considerations, and operational support requirements.
  • Ensure compliance requirements are incorporated into architecture and delivery processes, including FedRAMP-aligned controls, audit readiness, and security documentation.
  • Coordinate the preservation and validation of existing ETL workflows and data integrations, including dependencies involving Informatica and Oracle GoldenGate.
  • Lead architecture efforts for connected systems and interfaces to maintain data quality, reporting continuity, and minimal disruption during transition activities.
  • Support performance optimization and reporting continuity by ensuring business intelligence platforms such as OBIEE, Tableau, and Power BI continue operating effectively.
  • Drive migration cutover planning, including rollback strategies, stakeholder readiness, validation activities, and post-migration stabilization.
  • Manage technical risks, issues, dependencies, and architectural decisions while facilitating reviews, workshops, and alignment across technical teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering, security, data, and operations teams to ensure migration deliverables are tested, documented, and ready for ongoing support.

Requirements

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in cloud architecture, enterprise migrations, and regulated technology environments. They should combine strong technical expertise with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and deliver reliable modernization outcomes.

  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale Oracle database and data warehouse migrations to cloud environments, particularly Oracle Federal Cloud or similar enterprise cloud platforms.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering secure cloud solutions within regulated environments requiring strong compliance and documentation practices.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data integration, ETL processes, and migration dependencies, including technologies such as Informatica and Oracle GoldenGate.
  • Experience assessing legacy systems, identifying technical gaps, and leading remediation efforts to enable successful cloud transformation.
  • Knowledge of data warehouse performance optimization, including materialized views and reporting environments using platforms such as OBIEE, Tableau, and Power BI.
  • Strong experience with architecture governance, technical decision-making, risk management, stakeholder communication, and delivery leadership.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust clearance (Tier 2, Moderate Risk).
  • Ability to work remotely with occasional travel to customer locations as needed.
  • Preferred experience supporting government healthcare programs, including familiarity with enterprise data environments and mission-critical reporting systems.
  • Preferred experience with cloud migration frameworks, Oracle migration tools, and relevant cloud architecture or security certifications.
