Your area of work:
The Settlement Product Development team is responsible for the definition and development of all products and services related to settlement, as well as the delivery of these services to customers across all Clearstream business lines. This includes responding to regulatory requirements (e.g. CSDR) and driving innovation in line with new market trends (e.g. partial settlement, partial release, bridge interoperable link, Digital CSD, digital assets).
A key focus of this role is to own and further develop the strategic Bridge relationship with Euroclear, ensuring its stability, efficiency, and long-term evolution as a critical market infrastructure component. In parallel, the role requires actively contributing to Clearstream’s digital transformation agenda, supporting the transition from traditional settlement models towards digital and DLT-based ecosystems.
In addition, the Settlement Product Development team is in intensive contact with customers, authorities, market associations, and various DBAG internal departments to capture and leverage change drivers, ensuring the continuous evolution of the Settlement Cluster and reinforcing Clearstream’s position as a leading market infrastructure provider.
Your responsibilities:
You enhance Clearstream’s presence across industry forums and trade associations to shape public opinion and influence market developments (market advocacy), with a particular emphasis on Bridge strategy and digital settlement evolution.
You play a leading role in the development of new initiatives, feasibility studies, and simulations on customers’ portfolios by:
- Taking end-to-end ownership of the Bridge with Euroclear, including product evolution, governance, and strategic enhancements
- Acting as the primary point of contact for Euroclear on all matters related to the Bridge, ensuring strong partnership and alignment on future developments
- Driving and contributing to digital initiatives, including DLT-based settlement models, Digital CSD developments, and integration of new asset classes
- Designing new services to meet clients’ needs, including both traditional and digital settlement solutions
- Developing in-depth expertise in CSD regulations, market infrastructures, and evolving digital frameworks
- Playing an active role in identifying and implementing solutions to improve efficiency, including automation and digitalization opportunities
- Specifying clear and detailed business requirements aligned with client needs, regulatory expectations, and strategic priorities
- Acting as a key stakeholder in the definition of technical solutions with functional analysts and IT developers
- Working closely with Operations to design efficient and scalable processing flows, including hybrid (traditional/digital) models
- Following up on the writing of system requirements throughout the development lifecycle
- Overseeing the implementation and commercialization of new services, ensuring market readiness, successful roll-out, client adoption, and appropriate documentation
Your profile:
- University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 8+ years of professional experience working with Financial Market Infrastructures (FMIs) is required.
- Strong knowledge of the financial industry with deep expertise in settlement and market infrastructures (e.g., Global Custody, T2S, ICSDs).
- Solid understanding of Bridge mechanisms and interoperable links.
- Strong interest in and understanding of digital transformation in capital markets, including DLT platforms, digital assets, smart contracts, and emerging settlement models, as well as their relevance for the future of settlement.
- Demonstrated ability to draft high-quality reports, business requirements, and strategic materials in English.
- Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and cross-institutional environments.
- Comfortable engaging and negotiating with senior stakeholders, including key external partners such as Euroclear.
- Complete fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; a good knowledge of French and/or German is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with the MS Office software suite.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and represent the company externally.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a strong team-oriented mindset.
