About this role:
The Wells Fargo Application Hosting - Secure Network Services (AH-SNS) product provides foundational network infrastructure leveraged by Technology Infrastructure products and platforms in the Wells Fargo Data Centers. It also provides connectivity for business partners, the public Internet, and public cloud providers. AH-SNS is transforming operations to provision network capacity at an accelerated pace through full automation, providing transparency to the consumer and the network operators throughout the lifecycle of the infrastructure.
The Senior Network Engineer for the AH-SNS Internet team is responsible for standardized Internet network design, and automation, to build, provision, operate, automate, and maintain world class engineered network solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience with network infrastructure, networking technologies, automation, and software development tools.
In this role, you will:
- Guide both strategy and design of complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple technology areas
- Deliver network solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
- Act as an Internet technology advisor
- Support network product vision, direction and expertise addressing business objectives
- Maintain industry best practices across various networking technologies
- Strategically engage with all levels of professionals, managers, and business representatives
- Lead or participate in implementing network security policies across routers and firewalls
- Manage production networks including Internet Protocol backbone, data centers and edge pops across the globe
- Ensure the continuous availability of all data network services
- Identify gaps, risks and issues and navigate organizational structure to resolve them
- Perform quarterly proactive network testing to ensure proper functioning and reliability of the network
- Investigate and remediate network capacity related issues
- Apply knowledge of security and regulatory policies to design and implement foolproof secured network solutions
- Provide resolution information and work with other teams to complete impact analysis
- Deliver comprehensive and maintenance plans for change management review and approval
- Mentor and train network operations team in the installation, configuration, and maintenance
- Partner cross-functionally with other Product Infrastructure teams in order to continuously improve and apply standards and policies relevant to operational excellence
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Network automation experience, including automated testing
- Experience with network management, automation, and orchestration tools, such as Ansible, HPNA, and/or Ansible Automation Platform
- Experience with Ansible, JINJA, Python, REST, YAML
- Experience in Git, Jira, Jenkins usage and integrations
- Experience working in a large enterprise environment
- Experience with creating and or updating technical design documentation used by engineering teams
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Motivated continuous learner
Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$100,000.00 - $163,000.00
