Full description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Software QA Engineer to join our Software QA team within R&D.

The Software QA Engineer will be responsible for verifying the quality, functionality, stability, and reliability of software developed for Camtek's advanced inspection systems.

Working closely with Software Developers, System Engineers, Integration Engineers, Product Management, and Application Engineering.

the engineer will ensure that software releases meet functional and quality requirements throughout the product development lifecycle.

The role focuses on manual software verification, system-level testing, defect investigation, and continuous quality improvement within a multidisciplinary R&D environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and execute manual test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on product requirements and design specifications.
  • Perform functional, integration, system, regression, GUI, and end-to-end software verification.
  • Verify new software features and enhancements across multidisciplinary inspection systems.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Reproduce software issues, investigate failures and support root-cause analysis in collaboration with development teams.
  • Validate software functionality following bug fixes and feature implementations.
  • Produce verification reports, release recommendations, and quality metrics.
  • Contribute to improving QA methodologies, test coverage, and verification processes.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Practical Engineering degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in Manual Software QA or Software Verification within a multidisciplinary R&D environment.
  • Experience testing complex software at the integration and system levels.
  • Experience writing test plans, test cases, and test procedures.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Experience working with defect tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Experience with semiconductor equipment, inspection systems, industrial automation, machine vision, or multidisciplinary systems (preferred).
  • Familiarity with multidisciplinary systems combining software, hardware, optics, and motion control (preferred).
