Scope/Position Summary Responsible for the evaluation and implementation of computing and technology-based resources for the Pharmacy staff to perform patient care activities. Includes analysis of business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising existing system logic difficulties as necessary. Maintains day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy's desktop and technology-based resources. Provides ongoing communication with customers on system status and data issues. Will advise on end-user training for information technology-based resources to ensure understanding of functionality. Troubleshoots and maintains existing applications (e.g. monitor processes, error correction, provide QA of data and maintain data integrity, system testing, etc.). Provides technical consulting on basic information systems projects. The position needs to be generally knowledgeable in the following areas, and able to ramp up knowledge based on Pharmacy Department needs: -Directory Structures: Windows Active Directory (AD) -Server Operating Systems: Windows 2000/2003//2008, Mac O-SX -PC Operating Systems: Windows 2000/XP/W7, Mac OS-X -Desktop Applications: Microsoft Office 2003/2007/2010, IHIS, Abacus, Pinestar -Anti-Virus/Spyware: McAfee, Spyware removal tools -Networking: TCP/IP -Hardware: Dell workstations and laptops, HP printers, Intermec thermal printers, Mac
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Level Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience -Typically has 0-4 years experience in Information Technology (preferably experience in business systems) -Knowledge of analysis, specification design, language selection and report formatting -Experience interacting with customers to gather and understand their business and technical requirements -Work experience in developing technical and user documentation. -Good communication skills -Knowledge and experience with systems and business practices preferred
