We are seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Project Manager to lead industrial and commercial electrical construction projects throughout the Louisville area. This role is responsible for managing projects from preconstruction and contract award through commissioning and closeout while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate has a proven background working for an electrical contractor or electrical subcontractor, with experience managing all aspects of electrical construction including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, labor planning, subcontractor coordination, client communication, and financial performance. This is a hands-on leadership role that partners closely with field teams, estimators, vendors, general contractors, engineers, and clients to successfully deliver complex electrical projects.
Projects include industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, automotive facilities, commercial buildings, institutional campuses, distribution centers, and electrical service or retrofit projects.
Responsibilities• Manage multiple industrial and commercial electrical construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost forecasts, procurement plans, and manpower projections
- Coordinate Superintendents, Foremen, electricians, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and project stakeholders
- Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, schedules, and scope documents to ensure successful execution
- Track project financial performance, including labor productivity, equipment costs, material expenditures, and profitability
- Prepare and manage project forecasts, billing, cash flow, and cost reports
- Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation
- Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and long-lead items to maintain project schedules
- Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, engineers, architects, inspectors, and internal leadership
- Lead project meetings and provide updates regarding budgets, schedules, milestones, risks, and overall project status
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, safety compliance, and field productivity
- Support field leadership by ensuring crews have the necessary materials, equipment, information, and resources
- Negotiate, price, document, and manage change orders and contract modifications
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, project specifications, safety requirements, and company standards
- Coordinate commissioning, inspections, punch-list completion, project turnover, and final closeout documentation
- 3+ years of experience managing electrical construction projects
- Previous experience working for an electrical contractor or electrical subcontractor required
- Proven experience managing industrial and commercial electrical construction projects from start to finish
- Strong understanding of electrical construction practices, scheduling, labor planning, procurement, and field operations
- Experience managing project budgets, forecasting costs, labor productivity, subcontractors, and financial performance
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documents
- Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, billing, procurement, and project documentation
- Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction project management software
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites throughout the Louisville area
