Job Description
As Customer Project Excellence Manager, your core mission is to enable and support our decentralized Country CPMs through technical expertise, streamline Engineering-to-Order (ETO) projects, and drive continuous process improvement and lessons learned across the EMEA region.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Managing internal tracking of inquiries/projects for Engineered-to-Order (ETO) business
- Ensuring/conducting structured post-project reviews (technical, commercial, and procedural)
- Develop and foster a culture of lessons learned and continuous improvement.
- Supporting country teams with complex projects
- Providing coaching and mentoring for country CPMs
- Handling prototype projects
- Proofreading technical documentation, including drawings
- Managing HQ interfaces to relieve the workload of country CPMs
- Serving as secondary CPM for special projects
Qualifications
- Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a comparable technical qualification.
- 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in technical project management within special machinery, plant construction or the CAPEX equipment sector.
- Proven experience in root cause analysis, lessons learned activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Solid understanding of business fundamentals, project profitability, and experience working with ERP systems.
- Excellent communication skills, strong relationship-building abilities, and a high level of customer focus.
- Fluent in English for international collaboration. German language skills are a plus.
- Willingness to travel within the EMEA region (approx. 20–30%).

What makes this role unique?
This role is not a traditional Customer Project Manager position.
You will not primarily manage your own customer projects.
Instead, you will act as:
- Advisor for Country CPMs across EMEA
- Owner of Lessons Learned and project improvement initiatives
- Technical escalation partner for complex projects
- ETO and prototype project expert
- Driver of project excellence and best practice sharing
Success in this role is measured by:
- Reduction of recurring project issues
- Improved project execution across EMEA
- Successful support of Country CPMs
- Increased knowledge reuse and standardization
