- Troubleshooting production issues through to resolution and identifying ways to prevent them from happening again.
- Providing out-of-hours support when required, in line with organisational SLAs.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone with at least 3 years' commercial experience in Data Engineering who can hit the ground running.
You'll need to have:
- Strong commercial experience with Python and the ability to write clean, maintainable and effective code.
- Strong SQL skills and an excellent understanding of databases, data structures and data manipulation.
- Commercial experience working with data warehouses, ideally including Snowflake.
- Experience with MySQL and MS SQL Server 2019.
- A good understanding of data engineering principles and data transformation.
- An understanding of testing strategies and writing robust, reliable data solutions.
- Experience working within Agile methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
It would be great if you also have
- Experience with ELT tools such as Fivetran, Kleene or dbt.
- Experience using source code management tools, ideally Git.
- Previous experience working within the travel industry.
- Financial or finance-related data experience — this would be particularly valuable as you'll have the opportunity to work on finance-related data and projects.
