Job Description
We are seeking a high potential leader to take on the challenge of leading an Engineering Team under Digital Customer Engagement delivery team. You will lead multiple engineering teams, including POD resources, guiding and supporting engineers to design, develop, and deliver customer-facing capabilities globally. You will be responsible for fostering a high-performance culture focusing on new web application design and development. You will partner with the Digital Channel and product line leaders to review business needs and lead the IT development team to build an industry standard digital platform.
This role currently follows a hybrid work model. Work arrangements may evolve based on future business needs.
Primary Accountabilities:
- Directs, manages resources to implement tactical digital program plans and projects.
- Have overall responsibility for design, development, test, and ongoing enhancements of the Agilent digital platform. Drive team to deliver project design documents and technical architecture.
- Guide and support engineers and POD resources to deliver customer-facing capabilities to a global audience with quality and speed.
- Own and drive resolution of escalations across technical, delivery, and stakeholder dimensions, ensuring timely communication and closure.
- Proactively manage watch items, risks, and issues; guide the team on mitigation steps and contingency planning to keep delivery on track.
- Lead, drive, and help guide the project team through the AI-assisted SDLC life cycle.
- Ensure projects design and development meets industry best practices.
- Manage suppliers. Ensure supplier meet Agilent’s quality requirements.
- Ensure project team creates support documents and provides knowledge transfer to the support team.
- Ensure the team leverages industry digital standard tools and automation processes wherever possible.
- Engage business leadership and program management team. Ensure active engagement between IT and business project teams.
- Drive team to provide regular projects updates, dashboards, and communications.
- Build organizational capabilities. Develop talent. Actively engage and help guide employees.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent. Typically, 10+ years relevant experience, including 2+ years of experience leading large engineering teams in an office-based setting with people management skills.
- Proven track record of delivering results, with a successful record of on-time, high-quality delivery across complex programs.
- Capable of thinking strategically as well tactical execution.
- Must have experience leading engineering teams to deliver a personalized, large-scale B2B/B2C global web application.
- Experience developing digital technical solutions and architecture.
- Demonstrated successfully designing and implementing enterprise level digital, online solutions.
- Has strong cross functional collaboration skills (networks, hosting, security, and business partners)
- Has strong supplier management skills.
- Has clear and crisp communication skills.
- Has motivational skills, the ability to set clear vision and deliver.
- Experience handling different kinds of escalations across technical, delivery, and stakeholder scenarios.
- Ability to manage watch items, risks, and issues, including guiding the team on effective mitigation steps.
- Has the ability to develop talent.
Ways to stand out:
- Ability to fully guide the team and utilize agentic development techniques, including AI-assisted coding, automated test generation, code review support, documentation acceleration, and workflow automation, to improve engineering efficiency, delivery speed, and overall development quality.
- Experience leading engineering teams where Adobe Experience applications (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Target, Adobe Analytics) are leveraged is a strong plus.
Key Metrics of Success:
- On-time, on-scope delivery: Percentage of releases and milestones delivered on schedule and within committed scope for customer-facing capabilities.
- Delivery quality: Reduction in production defects/escaped bugs, improved code quality and test coverage, and adherence to engineering best practices.
- Escalation management: Time-to-resolution for escalations and reduction in recurring/repeat escalations.
- Risk & issue mitigation: Percentage of watch items, risks, and issues proactively identified and mitigated before impacting delivery.
- Global platform performance: Improvement in web application performance, availability/uptime, and user experience for the global B2B audience.
- Team health & capability: Team engagement/retention, talent development and upskilling (including AI-assisted SDLC adoption), and POD resource productivity.
- Stakeholder satisfaction: Business and product partner satisfaction with delivery, communication cadence, and transparency of dashboards/updates.
- Business impact: Contribution to digital revenue growth and adoption of new customer-facing features.
