This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a DevOps Engineer (AWS GovCloud Kubernetes) based in United States.
This part-time role is an opportunity to support the deployment and ongoing operation of a SaaS environment within AWS GovCloud. You will take ownership of establishing a secure, reliable, and scalable cloud instance designed to meet specialized access requirements. The position combines hands-on infrastructure work with ongoing release support and operational maintenance. You will work with an established AWS and Kubernetes architecture supporting a modern SaaS technology stack. The role is particularly suited to an experienced DevOps professional who can work independently and deliver focused technical outcomes. Your work will contribute directly to the uptime, reliability, scalability, and performance of software used in high-stakes assessment environments. After the initial GovCloud setup, you will continue supporting releases and ensuring updates are consistently deployed across environments.

Accountabilities
- Set up and configure a new SaaS environment within AWS GovCloud, ensuring the infrastructure is secure, reliable, scalable, and aligned with operational requirements.
- Support Kubernetes-based application deployment and infrastructure configuration within the GovCloud environment.
- Manage and maintain the AWS infrastructure required to operate the SaaS application effectively.
- Deploy application releases to the GovCloud environment in coordination with the primary non-GovCloud environment.
- Support ongoing release activities, troubleshooting deployment issues and helping maintain consistent application versions across environments.
- Monitor the operational health, uptime, reliability, and scalability of the GovCloud SaaS instance.
- Collaborate with the existing DevOps lead and technical stakeholders to coordinate deployments and resolve infrastructure or application-related issues.
- Apply DevOps best practices to maintain efficient, repeatable, and dependable deployment processes.
- Help ensure the environment continues to meet the access and operational requirements associated with a U.S. government cloud deployment.
- Contribute focused technical support after the initial implementation, with an emphasis on reliable releases and ongoing platform stability.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional DevOps experience supporting SaaS applications on AWS.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes in production environments.
- Previous experience working with AWS GovCloud is strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting modern SaaS architectures and cloud-native application environments.
- Familiarity with application stacks involving Groovy, Grails, and Java is beneficial.
- Understanding of containerized application deployment and Kubernetes-based orchestration.
- Ability to manage cloud environments with a strong focus on uptime, reliability, scalability, and operational consistency.
- Experience supporting application releases across multiple environments and troubleshooting deployment-related issues.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize focused technical tasks, and collaborate effectively with an existing engineering team.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a methodical approach to resolving infrastructure and deployment issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with technical stakeholders.
- University degree in a technology-related field is required.
- U.S. nationality is required, as access to the GovCloud environment is restricted to U.S. Nationals.
- Candidates must be located within the contiguous United States.
- Availability to work in a part-time capacity, with more focused involvement during the initial environment setup and ongoing support primarily around releases.
