The Product Line Manager - Key job description includes

Production Management – Planning, coordinating, and achieving production targets efficiently.

Leadership & Team Management – Supervising operators, supervisors, and shift teams while driving performance and engagement.

Lean Manufacturing – Applying Lean, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and Six Sigma methodologies to improve productivity and reduce waste.

Quality Management – Ensuring compliance with automotive quality standards and driving defect reduction initiatives.

Safety Management – Maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring adherence to EHS regulations.

Problem-Solving & Root Cause Analysis – Using tools such as 8D, Fishbone Diagram, and 5 Whys to resolve production issues.

Equipment & Maintenance Coordination – Improving machine uptime and supporting preventive maintenance programs.

Production Planning & Inventory Control – Managing manpower, materials, and workflow to meet delivery schedules.

Data Analysis & KPI Management – Monitoring OEE, productivity, scrap, downtime, FPY, and delivery performance metrics.

Cost & Resource Optimization – Reducing operational costs while maximizing efficiency and resource utilization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration – Working effectively with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Logistics teams.

ERP/MES Systems Knowledge – Experience with manufacturing systems such as SAP, Oracle, or MES platforms.

Communication & Decision-Making – Strong ability to communicate operational priorities and make timely decisions under pressure.

  • Production - Lead daily manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality, cost, and delivery targets. Develop and execute production plans to meet customer demand and schedule adherence. Monitor and improve productivity, cycle times, throughput, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Manage workforce planning, shift operations, and resource allocation. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste and improve operational efficiency Manage, coach and develop a high performing manufacturing team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
  • Tool Room & Die Maintenance - Manage tool room operations including maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of dies, moulds, jigs, fixtures, and tooling. Ensure die availability to support uninterrupted production schedules. Establish preventive maintenance programs for stamping and forming dies. Monitor die life, tool performance, and tooling-related quality issues. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for tooling failures and breakdowns. Support new tool development, modifications, and commissioning activities. Optimize tooling costs and improve tool utilization and reliability
  • Heat Treatment - Oversee heat treatment processes including hardening, tempering, carburizing and nitriding operations. Monitor furnace performance, process controls, and product quality. Coordinate maintenance and calibration of furnaces and heat treatment equipment. Manage heat treatment documentation, traceability, and process audits
  • Manufacturing Engineering - Optimize production processes and line layouts. Support new product Developments (NPD), process validation, and production ramp-ups. Implement process improvements to enhance quality, productivity, and cost performance. Ensure adherence to standard work, process documentation, and engineering change management. Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and Industry 4.0 practices to improve performance.
  • Maintenance - Ensure maximum equipment availability through preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize machine downtime and improve reliability. Monitor equipment performance, breakdown trends, and maintenance KPIs. Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of production equipment. Drive TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) initiatives to improve asset utilization and OEE
  • Leadership - Lead Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, Tool Room and Heat Treatment teams. Develop talent, succession planning, and employee capability improvement programs. Coordinate with Quality, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, and Customer teams. Review operational performance and implement actions to achieve business objectives. Foster a culture of operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
