This role is responsible for validating existing inventories, scripting API automations, configuring self-hosted agent pools, and executing cutover activities while ensuring seamless integration across third-party build tools and extensions.

Key Responsibilities

Discovery, Inventory & Automation

  • Collect and validate comprehensive inventories of projects, repositories, pipelines, agent pools, users, groups, extensions, and tool integrations.
  • Utilize Azure DevOps REST APIs, PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python scripting to support automated discovery, validation, configuration, and audit evidence collection.
  • Support user, group, permission, and identity mapping across Azure DevOps organizations.

Pipeline & Agent Configuration

  • Analyze, update, and re-register multi-stage YAML pipelines across Azure Repos.
  • Configure, provision, and re-register self-hosted build agents and custom agent pools across Windows and Linux environments.
  • Validate and configure pipeline dependencies, including variable groups, secure files, service connections, credentials, certificates, and extensions.

Testing, Migration & Troubleshooting

  • Test and validate integrations with external systems, including JFrog Artifactory connectivity and MATLAB/Simulink extension functionality.
  • Execute structured test cases, pipeline validations, migration rehearsals, and production cutover activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline execution errors, authentication issues, build agent offline states, and integration failures.

Documentation & Stabilization

  • Execute migration tasks accurately from established technical runbooks and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation, migration evidence, issue logs, and system configuration records.
  • Provide post-migration hypercare stabilization, troubleshooting support, and knowledge transfer to internal engineering teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of hands-on DevOps engineering experience with a strong focus on Azure DevOps Services.
  • 3 or more years of experience building, configuring, and troubleshooting Azure Repos and YAML-based CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven experience installing, configuring, and managing self-hosted build agents and agent pools.
  • Strong automation and scripting skills using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python, or Azure DevOps REST APIs.
  • In-depth working knowledge of Azure DevOps administrative settings, including user/group permissions, variable groups, secure files, service connections, and marketplace extensions.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute structured test plans, analyze failure logs, and work independently from detailed migration runbooks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience configuring and integrating JFrog Artifactory with Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Experience supporting MATLAB / Simulink extensions and embedded software build toolchains.
  • Hands-on experience managing Windows and Linux build servers, proxy configurations, SSL/TLS certificates, and private network routing.
  • Prior consulting or migration execution experience in large-scale enterprise environments.

Core Skills & Attributes
