The Global Loyalty & Benefits organization is looking for a talented Senior Manager– Digital Product Operations to help drive the transformation of our Risk & Control framework. You'll be working in a small team utilizing the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) framework recently implemented at Amex. You will partner with internal product and engineering teams to identify and assess the inherent risks in the platform and design, implement, and document the appropriate controls to mitigate those risks. You will act as a liaison between the Control Management organization, Operational Risk Management, and the internal teams across our large and complex organization. A key part of this role will be to build and foster a culture of ownership and accountability in close partnership with product and engineering teams.
The Global Loyalty & Benefits Platform is part of the larger Enterprise Platforms Technology unit where product and engineering resources have been organizationally brought together to improve speed to market and further unlock value across core capabilities. The Global Loyalty & Benefits Platform serves a broad set of products and solutions across the enterprise that require close collaboration with colleagues who develop new card products, digital channels, marketing operations, membership rewards, co-brand programs, card benefits, analytics, operations excellence and servicing. The focus of the Loyalty Risk & Control team is the build out of the proper platform controls, demonstrated ownership and accountability for those controls, and successful testing and auditing of the controls governing Global Loyalty & Benefits work across the Offers, Benefits, and Rewards customer-facing journeys.
Responsibilities
- Ability to provide insights and recommendations to Control Owners for the purpose of optimizing the platform controls.
- Deep engagement and consultation with various risk leads, tech leads, products owners, and control management teams to understand current and future needs.
- Collaborate with other team members to define business requirements to meet the end users’ needs through one-on-one, small and large-group interviews about technology and system concepts.
- Communicate and build consensus across multiple teams in creating solutions.
- Full participation in and support of Risk Assessment Units, Control creation, and Operational Risk Reviews.
- Actively manage the portfolio of controls by ensuring it is reviewed continuously, represents the best strategy to mitigate inherent risks, and drives ownership and accountability.
- Ensure that Control Testing is completed on a timely basis and any failures or findings are tracked through the Issue Management Policy.
- Please note, salary increases in case of a lateral move are provided only on an exception basis and in line with compensation guidelines.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience working on/with risk and control frameworks (PRSA, RCSA)
- Basic technical understanding of Loyalty applications
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels within the organization, including external partners.
- Familiarity with Agile and scrum software development methodologies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to consult with various stakeholders and define optimal requirements.
- Problem solving, project management and analytical skills; ability to prioritize and complete tasks.
- High degree of personal organization
- Shows individual initiative, proactiveness and personal accountability.
- Bachelor’s Degree required (or comparable experience) in Business or Computer Science disciplines (preferred)
- Familiarity with Jira, Rally, Confluence, Archer, ServiceNow preferred.
