Are you a Project Manager with community development experience looking for a new and different challenge? Thanks to National Lottery players, Sussex Community Development Association has received more than £440,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund. The funding will be used to create SEED, a community funding programme that lets local people participate in deciding how grants are awarded.

The aim will be distributing small grants to grassroots voluntary & community groups using participant decision making panels and an asset based community development approach.

You will take responsibility for recruiting, training and supporting the participant decision makers and oversee the compliance and regulations around distribution of Lottery funds, ensuring that monies are awarded correctly. Working closely with SCDA’s finance team and management, you will ensure that reporting, monitoring and accuracy is observed which satisfies Lottery and SCDA procedures.

Ideally, you will have an understanding and ability to work with people from marginalised or socially excluded backgrounds, helping enable and support them to develop the necessary skills for good adjudication. Organised and with great management and communication skills, you will be able to supervise the participants with confidence, clarity and adaptability.

We are looking for people to join our team who have the qualities and skills we feel would most benefit our service users; professionalism, empathy, kindness and understanding. In return, we recognise people want to work in a supportive environment with friendly colleagues. We offer a flexible, hybrid approach to delivery wherever possible, annual leave of 25 days per year pro rata plus bank holidays and sick pay from the start (increasing with service), additional sick pay for necessary operations and recovery, a pension scheme, bereavement leave, and managers who are available to you… plus a day off for your birthday!

Additional Information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
