About Us

Spare Time Entertainment operates 18 family entertainment centers across 12 states, from New England to the Carolinas, Tennessee, Alabama, and the Midwest. Bowling, dining, arcades, and events. Our corporate office recently relocated to Huntersville, NC, just outside Charlotte.

We are looking for an IT Systems Administrator to join a two person IT team supporting the entire company.

That means real ownership. You will run the day to day infrastructure across 18 entertainment centers, two corporate offices, and a growing cloud footprint, and you will be a hands on contributor on the projects that shape where the environment goes next. Reporting directly to the Director of Information Technology, you will have short lines to decisions and no layers to work through.

The right person is comfortable at the command line and equally comfortable on site at a center with a switch in one hand. If you like variety, autonomy, and seeing the results of your work, this is a good seat.

What You Will Do Systems and Servers Administer Windows Server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file services. Manage and monitor VMware virtualized infrastructure including patching, snapshots, and capacity. Administer our Microsoft 365 tenant covering user lifecycle, licensing, Entra ID, Intune, and SharePoint or OneDrive. Support Exchange and contribute to our migration to Exchange Online. Maintain backup infrastructure and validate recovery readiness.

Network Configure and maintain firewalls across all sites. Manage and expand switching and wireless deployments as we standardize the network company wide. Support site to site VPN across our WAN and contribute to SD-WAN design and implementation. Coordinate with ISPs on circuit provisioning, renewals, and escalations across a geographically distributed portfolio. End User and Site Support Provide escalated support for corporate users and center based thin client users. Manage the thin client fleet and help evaluate the next platform. Support VoIP infrastructure across all locations. Deploy and configure new hardware and build standard imaging procedures. Travel to centers roughly 25% of the time to execute onsite infrastructure work.

Security Administer endpoint security and identity protection tooling. Support network segmentation and PCI compliance posture in a card present environment. Monitor security events and escalate per established runbooks. What You Bring 3+ years in a systems or network administration role. Hands on Windows Server experience including AD DS, DNS, DHCP, GPO, and file services. Working knowledge of firewall administration, with FortiGate experience strongly preferred. Solid networking fundamentals including VLANs, routing, switching, IPSec and SSL VPN, and TCP/IP. Microsoft 365 administration including Exchange, Entra ID, Intune, and Teams. Familiarity with VMware vSphere or an equivalent hypervisor platform. PowerShell scripting for automation and administration. Willingness to participate in a rotating on call schedule for after hours support. Ability to work independently in a lean team with minimal supervision. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to centers approximately 25% of the time.

Nice to Have Fortinet NSE certification at any level, or an equivalent network security credential. Experience with Ubiquiti UniFi switching and wireless. Familiarity with Veeam Backup and Replication. Experience supporting multi site retail, hospitality, or entertainment environments. Exposure to SD-WAN design or implementation. Experience with thin client platforms such as IGEL or Stratodesk. PCI-DSS awareness in a card present merchant environment.

What We Offer Direct partnership with the Director of Information Technology on infrastructure strategy for an 18 site national portfolio. High autonomy work where your decisions shape the environment from day one. An active project pipeline including firewall refresh, cloud migration, and network standardization. A people first culture rooted in entertainment and hospitality. Competitive compensation, benefits, and paid time off.
