Role Summary
Seeking a Technical Business Analyst (TBA) to translate business needs into actionable solution specifications across banking platforms (e.g., payments, cards, core banking). The role spans requirements, solution design support, data & interface specifications, testing coordination, delivery governance, and post‑go‑live stabilization—working closely with FBAs, Solution Architects, Development, and TCoE/Testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Elicit, analyze, and translate business requirements into detailed functional specs (BRD/FRD), user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Conduct fit‑gap and impact analysis across upstream/downstream systems; map dependencies and non‑functional requirements.
- Lead walkthroughs of solution designs with FBAs, architects, testing teams (TCoE), and business users.
- Produce/validate API contracts (Swagger/OpenAPI), interface specs, sequence diagrams, data mappings (JSON/XML/CSV), error codes, and reconciliation rules.
- Review and validate technical design specifications; ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and design standards.
- Contribute to high‑level test strategies; ensure SIT/UAT/regression/performance test coverage for critical functions.
- Guide testers/users on system configurations (e.g., parameter setup), end‑to‑end reconciliation, and scenario coverage.
- Drive defect triage with Dev & Test; ensure timely resolution and clear RCA.
- Support cutover planning, rollback strategies, post‑implementation support, and early‑life stabilization.
- Lead TBA/SA activities before build; support multiple projects where feasible.
- Document and escalate risks/issues; maintain RAID and ensure mitigation plans.
- Prepare and deliver clear documentation and presentations for non‑technical and senior stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with development teams, architects, FBAs, and senior stakeholders to ensure traceability from requirements to release.
- JIRA/Confluence, Visio/Draw.io (BPMN/UML), Swagger/Postman, ALM/Xray/Zephyr.
- Understanding of enterprise SDLC, CAB/change controls, and test management practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- 6–10 years as a Systems Analyst / Business Analyst / Technical BA in banking/financial services.
- Strong experience writing FRDs/BRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and conducting fit‑gap & impact analysis.
- Hands‑on with API/integration specifications (REST, events, batch), data mapping, and SQL for analysis.
- Proven collaboration across Architecture, Development, Testing (TCoE), and Business.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
Preferred Banking/Payments Experience
- Cards & Payments domain: product lifecycle, card management, online/batch interfaces, reconciliation, GL mapping.
- Rewards/loyalty: design and operations (earn/burn, adjustments, provisioning); experience with rewards platforms (e.g., One EmpowER) is a plus.
- Exposure to cards platforms (e.g., VisionPLUS, Cardlink) and card payment networks; recent (last 2 years) hands‑on cards involvement preferred.
- Familiarity with PCI‑DSS controls, exception handling, and end‑to‑end STP patterns in payments.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- CBAP, Agile (CSM/PSPO/SAFe), ITIL, PCI‑DSS awareness.
