Job Description

General Purpose of Job:  

The Regional Senior Community Connect Business Analyst Liaison provides a primary bridge between the Regional University of Michigan Health Network’s health information technology team and its affiliated, independent community partners. Their core purpose is to ensure the successful adoption, optimization, and support of the Epic electronic health record system, facilitating a unified digital ecosystem. 

Essential Duties:

This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis.  Team members may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader.  Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.

  • Relationship Management: Acts as the primary point of contact for assigned community partners, fostering long-term relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Operational Support: Rounds on clinics regularly to provide on-site or virtual support, analyzing workflows to identify improvements.
  • Implementation & Optimization: Assists with Epic upgrades, enhancements, integrations, and testing: leads partners through the implementation of new Epic modules.
  • Communication & Escalation: Communicates projects status with leadership, operations, and IT teams; acts as the primary escalation point for troubleshooting and support issues.
  • Training & Best Practices: Shares application tips with providers and staff, ensuring consistent use of best practices across the network. Conduct audits and risk assessments, recommending and implementing enhancements.
  • Data Analysis: Builds, monitors, and analyzes data trends related to clinical processes to improve efficiencies along with quality care. Research and evaluate technologies and solutions, recommending adoption where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams on projects, ensuring alignment with overall community connect strategy,
  • Administrative Tasks: Manages and oversees contracts, statement of works, collaborates with finance to ensure invoicing and payment process are adhered to, and meeting cadence.

Job Requirements

General Requirements

  • Epic certifications are strongly preferred

Work Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in client management, healthcare operations, or IT consulting with deep knowledge of Epic modules preferably ambulatory.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 9+ years of experience in health IT; Or Associate's degree in Information Technology or a related field with 7+ years of experience in health IT; Or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 5 years of experience in health IT.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficiency in Epic EHR software, Microsoft Office Suite, Dragon and Dax deployments • Strong leadership and communication skills. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
