Full description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Product Manager, Security and Identity Platform based in United States.

This is a high-impact product leadership role focused on building secure, scalable identity and access capabilities for demanding enterprise customers. You will own the strategy and evolution of authentication, authorization, entitlements, provisioning, and customer data protection. The role combines deep technical understanding with strong product judgment and a customer-first mindset. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Product Security, enterprise stakeholders, and senior leadership to deliver critical platform capabilities. You will help shape secure deployment models, auditability, tenant isolation, and modern identity experiences across complex environments. This is an opportunity to build foundational security infrastructure while positioning it as a strategic driver of enterprise value. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, challenges assumptions thoughtfully, and can turn complex security requirements into practical product solutions.

Accountabilities

  • Own the product strategy, roadmap, and execution for authentication, authorization, identity, access, and entitlement capabilities in partnership with Engineering and Product Security.
  • Define and deliver scalable enterprise identity experiences, including federated authentication, user provisioning, directory integrations, and SCIM-based workflows.
  • Drive centralized auditability, least-privilege access, organization isolation, and other controls required by security-conscious and regulated enterprise customers.
  • Lead product direction for secure deployment and customer content protection, addressing requirements around data isolation, AI processing, regional hosting, encryption, and customer-managed infrastructure.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Security, enterprise customers, and senior stakeholders to identify needs, evaluate trade-offs, and translate complex security requirements into actionable product initiatives.
  • Serve as a strategic partner on security risk, balancing appropriate protection with usability and commercial considerations while challenging unnecessary requirements through sound judgment.
  • Build strong relationships with enterprise security leaders and become a trusted product resource for identity, access, and information security capabilities.
  • Influence cross-functional teams to recognize security infrastructure as a source of customer value, differentiation, and revenue rather than solely a compliance investment.
  • Lead complex initiatives from early-stage definition through delivery, ensuring clear priorities, strong execution, and measurable customer impact.

Requirements

  • Significant product management experience building and scaling enterprise identity, access, authentication, security, or comparable platform capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience building products or platforms from early stages rather than primarily operating within mature, established frameworks.
  • Deep technical understanding of identity and access concepts, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, JWT, RBAC, ABAC, and MFA.
  • Hands-on familiarity with enterprise identity platforms such as Auth0 and Okta, as well as federated identity models where customers manage their own users and identities.
  • Experience working with regulated or security-conscious enterprise customers and understanding the practical requirements associated with compliance, data protection, and secure infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of authorization, entitlement management, provisioning, tenant isolation, audit logging, encryption, and secure deployment models.
  • Proven ability to make pragmatic security trade-offs, distinguishing between essential controls and requirements that introduce unnecessary complexity or risk.
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to align senior stakeholders, navigate difficult conversations, and influence technical and business decisions.
  • Customer empathy combined with strong product judgment and the ability to translate complex technical requirements into intuitive, commercially valuable experiences.
  • Builder mindset with a demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and drive complex initiatives from strategy through execution.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Product Security, enterprise customers, and senior leadership while maintaining clear ownership of product outcomes.

Benefits

  • Base compensation range of $190,000–$250,000 USD, with final compensation determined by experience, expertise, and other relevant factors.
  • Eligibility for a performance-based bonus.
  • Equity opportunities as part of the overall compensation package.
  • Generous benefits program supporting employee health, well-being, and financial security.
  • Opportunity to work on AI-powered enterprise products and foundational security infrastructure with significant customer impact.
  • Collaborative environment with exposure to senior technical, product, and enterprise stakeholders.
  • Opportunity to shape security and identity capabilities for sophisticated enterprise organizations.
  • Equal opportunity workplace committed to inclusion, respect, and fair employment practices.
  • Reasonable accommodations available for qualified individuals with disabilities, as required by applicable law.
