This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer, Backend (Java, KeeperApp) based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to build secure, scalable backend systems that support a globally trusted cybersecurity platform.The successful candidate will design and enhance server-side services, APIs, and core application functionality using modern backend technologies.You will work on high-impact engineering initiatives, solving complex technical challenges while improving system reliability and performance.The position combines hands-on development, architectural decision-making, and collaboration with experienced engineers and product teams.You will contribute to secure software practices, clean code standards, and long-term platform maintainability.This fully remote opportunity provides the flexibility to work from anywhere in the U.S. while contributing to innovative cybersecurity solutions.

Accountabilities: The Software Engineer, Backend will be responsible for developing and maintaining backend services that power critical application capabilities. This role requires strong ownership of server-side engineering, attention to performance and security, and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and product teams.

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java.
  • Build clean, efficient, and maintainable server-side code supporting core application features.
  • Implement and improve business logic while ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Work with relational databases to design schemas, write queries, and optimize performance.
  • Collaborate with engineers and product stakeholders to define, design, and deliver new features.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to backend engineering standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues involving performance, reliability, and correctness.
  • Apply secure coding practices to protect sensitive data and application services.
  • Contribute to Agile development processes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong backend engineering expertise, experience building production-quality applications, and the ability to solve complex technical problems in a fast-paced environment. A strong foundation in Java development, databases, APIs, and software architecture is essential.

  • 5+ years of professional backend software development experience.
  • Strong experience with server-side Java development.
  • Solid understanding of backend application architecture and API design.
  • Experience working with MySQL or similar relational database technologies.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience with Kotlin is highly valued.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
