We are seeking a Data Engineer - Mid to support the design, development, and maintenance of cloud-based data pipelines, ETL processes, and data ingestion frameworks for FEMA’s data analytics platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and optimize complex data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
  • Lead data modeling, partitioning, and performance tuning.
  • Ensure FISMA/FedRAMP-compliant security and data governance.
  • Support analytics, AI/ML teams, and cross-program data initiatives.
  • Oversee automation, code reviews, and DevSecOps integration.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 3+ years of relevant working experience in a similar role.
  • Deep experience with distributed computing (Spark, EMR, Databricks).
  • Advanced SQL, Python, and cloud data tooling.
  • Familiarity with DHS data governance and security standards.

Education and Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • AWS/Azure/GCP Data certifications.

Clearance Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust. Active Public Trust is preferred. FEMA Public Trust is highly preferred.
