We're looking for an experienced governance professional to join our Product, Sustainability and Marketing team and play a key role in supporting effective product governance across the organisation.

Mō te tūranga | About the Role

As Product Governance Manager, you'll help shape and strengthen product governance across Westpac. Partnering with senior leaders and product teams, you'll provide trusted advice, constructive challenge, and governance oversight to support strong decision-making, regulatory compliance, and better customer outcomes.

This is a high-impact role where you'll influence key stakeholders, drive governance excellence, and help continuously improve governance practices across the business.

What you'll do:

  • Provide governance oversight, review and challenge on product changes and reviews.
  • Manage governance forums, approval processes and key registers.
  • Prepare high-quality committee papers, reporting and governance packs.
  • Partner with stakeholders to provide practical governance advice and guidance.
  • Facilitate governance meetings and ensure actions are delivered.
  • Monitor governance performance and report insights to senior leaders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen governance and customer outcomes.

You're a governance professional who thrives in a complex, regulated environment and is confident influencing senior stakeholders. Whether your background is in governance, risk, compliance, audit, legal, product management or financial services, you'll bring a passion for doing the right thing and driving strong customer outcomes.

You'll have:

  • Experience in governance, risk, compliance, audit, legal or product-related roles.
  • A strong understanding of governance frameworks, controls and oversight.
  • The confidence to provide constructive challenge and influence senior leaders.
  • Excellent written communication and reporting skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Experience in banking or financial services would be an advantage.
